I switched to a high raw and vegan (only eating honey sometimes) diet several weeks ago and I've noticed that ever since, my knees have been cracking all the time. I also often have serious joint pain to the point where I can't walk very well. I'm only 17 and haven't had these issues before.
I am eating enough greens and not too much fat.
Can someone please help me?

Raw food won't lead you to this problem, it is the food that you ate before that caused that. Also, because of your age, you most-likely have weak kidney due to what was passed to you genetically. Our children will get weaker unless we change our food choice. Stick with raw food and especially have as much fresh ripe fruit as you can and have leafy greens and fresh herbs to maintain your body alkaline.
The good news your body will rejuvenate and since you are young, you will be bless with no grey hair if you stick to raw food. Research about natural food that help with the join.
You are also detoxing and since your kidneys aren't to the max just yet, it is back loaded (all toxin and acid generated from your cell).
Hang in there, you are on the right path.

My knees have always cracked since I was a teenager, but I noticed that once I went raw, I noticed a difference. I also noticed a huge difference by adding MSM into my diet. I usually drink water, mixed with fresh lemon and MSM in the morning.
You're on the right track though.

Thanks a lot. I guess I'll just wait for another while.

Very interesting... Is there a website or something where I can read up about this?
I have always been the wekest person I've known. I am not even as strong as my female cousin who is 4 years younger than me. I have no musle at all and am really weak.
I am about 175cm and weigh 56 kilos. Have always been very slim, but I know people who are thinner than me and stronger.

I've read that dry skin after switching to eating all raw food is a form of detox. And I would have to agree with it. Back when I switched to all raw I ended up getting really dry hands and feet and my heels were cracking, and it seemed to last for a couple weeks. Then it went away for a few weeks I think it was and ended coming back for another week or so on my hands only that time. Then it went away again. So I would have to agree that in my experience it is just another form of detox as the skin begins to unload all the toxic material it was holding onto.
What helped me releive the pain and dry skin was to smother my feet in coconut oil and then put on some socks before bed. I did the same for my hands. Actually what worked best was to put plastic bags over my feet and hands after applying generous amounts of coconut oil and then putting on some socks over both my feet and hands.
Also it is recommended to increase your water intake if you're noticing dry skin while detoxing. And it may also be beneficial to begin consuming some coconut oil everyday.
If you want information on why and how children are becoming weaker as a byproduct of the food choices of our parents and the generations before us....... I HIGHLY suggest researching Dr. Pottenger. And specifically do a search for, Pottengers Cats. Once you understand what he discovered it begins to make sense as to why 6 year old children are getting cancer.

Google dr. Morse (morsend for his youtube). I got this info from him.

Step up your hydration level and see if that helps. Also begin some quadricep exercises. It may just be your kneecaps are not tracking right due to laxity in the joint.
Have you a history of banging your kneecaps of other knee injury? injury to the kneecap can cause crunching and grating noises/sensations and pain. Quadricep work and stabilization exercises (running/walking backwards, sideways, and in figure eights helped my crepidice.
So, maybe work on building your leg muscles and stay well hydrated and I bet it will improve. If you are not real active it could just be tight quads pulling on the top of the kneecap, in which case some quad stretching exercises should help.

I have no musle at all and am really weak.
That's probably your problem right there. Increase your intake of ETAs and do some exercises that will strengthen the muscles around the knee joints. Get onto youtube, you'll find lots of videos with various exercises.

Thanks for your help everyone. It's been better today... Also, I do exercise, I run 50 minutes at least 4 times a week and I have not had any serious knee injuries.

When we switch to such a clean diet from one that was what we assumed healthy or one we knew was unhealthy, that's when all the hidden problems show up. And they can show up fast or slow. Really it's just a signal that your body needs cleansing to be at optimal health. A raw food diet is very cleansing, but it also is slow to detox your body in certain areas. That's why some people give up on eating raw food because they think it doesn't work for them, when in fact it was wroking great but they weren't keeping up with getting the toxins out as the body was releasing them. If you've heard of raw food eaters losing their hair or eventually getting sick some two years down the road, this is exactly what's going on.
Not trying to cause fear, but I think it's best to be informed about the journey you are about to embark upon.
For the cracking knees you I would suggest you consider doing liver flushes until all the gallstones are gone. Once you start with them you should continue, don't do one liver flush and then wait 2-3 months and do another one. Do them every 3-4 weeks until all the stones are gone.
Liver flushing was probably one of my least favorite cleanses, but I also think it is one of the most important. One tip that is very important is to have a clear colon before you plan on drinking the grapefruit/olive oil concotion. If your GI tract is full I can pretty much guarantee that you will feel nauseaus at some point. And make sure you do the actual flush over a weekend or when you have some free days. It in my opinion is very draining on the body and you will want to rest. An excellent book that is loaded with all sorts of information is, "The Amazing Liver and Gallblader Miracle Cleanse" - by Andreas Moritz

Hi Raven, did you begin running when you began your raw vegan diet? If not, have you been running more than usual? I had a similar issue when I was a bit older than you. I ended up so bad I couldn't walk at all. My office was on the second level and had to take the stairs. It used to take me 10 minutes to get up there. I had to see a physiotherapist who fixed me up with electrotherapy, plus I had to tape up my knees and do some exercises to strengthen the muscle around them. Also make sure your joggers are up to scratch when you're running. If it's not that, it could possibly be diet related if you've switched to raw vegan from a really poor diet. You never mentioned how you were eating before that. It may be gout, or rather the reversal of gout and you're having uric acid crystals being broken away from your joints and released back into your blood stream. Often the reversal of gout is more painful than gout itself. Either way, you should take it easy for a while... definitely no jogging because you don't want to make them worse. If it's gout, get yourself some cherries, have lemon juice or Apple Cyder Vinegar and add some turmeric powder in your food to ease the inflammation. Even if it's not gout, it won't hurt and it could ease the pain. Eat other antinflammatory foods such as raw garlic, have ginger tea, avocados etc. Try not to have sugars and other inflammatory foods... all the white carbs are very inflammatory and so are dried fruits especially figs and dates. What have you been eating while on raw? What's a typical day like for you?
