Today I woke up with vertigo...a mild case. So, is this another detox symptom? I still have a slight sinus thing going on...I broke out on my face yesterday (my skin is typically perfect), and my cold cores (all 4 of the them) are on their way out.
The good thing about today is that I'm down 1.5 lbs from yesterday!

What's up???

Yeah, it all sounds like detox. Even the vertigo.

The good news is, detox doesn't last forever (it just feels that way hahahhahaa!)

But CONGRATULATIONS on the weight loss!!!! :woot:

I wonder if I should do something to speed this up. Today is day 26 for me on 100% raw. I had detox during the first week then it subsided.
Maybe juice? But with my tennis schedule I can't really do more than a few days (4 at the most)in a row. I got a lot of the super foods to help it along and I know greens help. Boo hoo.
Thanks for your input!!!

I just grabbed some chapparal yesterday at the mexican grocery in DesPlaines, to make some detox tea. It's supposed to be pretty potent, though not real pleasant tasting.....I've yet to try it.

I have had some vertigo for a few days as well. My wife has the sinus thing going on but I have been spared of it so far-at least any noticeable symptoms aside from the dizziness. Hard to say which it could be for me.
Do you neti pot your sinuses? Stay well hydrated and try to keep alkaline so your mucosal defense is strong.
I hope you feel better soon!

Maybe it's the weather--Chicago has had quite the flux in the last week or so, right? Changing humidity and changing air pressure might be causing acne/headaches, too.

Streetsurfer,
I just noticed you live in a construction zone in Illinois....that's funny. So you must live south if you're shopping at a grocery store in DesPlaines.
I'm curious how you chose chapparal. Be careful with it, it is powerful and you don't want to take it long term.
This is what I found on line about possible detox symptoms with going raw:

A healing crisis occurs when the system is overloaded with toxins. As a result, the body works to eliminate them through the skin, bowels, kidneys and lungs. This may produce symptoms such as rashes, nausea, weakness, dizziness, weight loss, coated tongue, fatigue, congestion of the sinuses and lungs, headaches, backaches, swollen joints, digestive problems, constipation or diarrhea – but not necessarily all of them! Thank goodness!
I've been on the couch all day.

Oh, and I do use a neti pot!!
Thanks for your post!

I meant, you must live North if you're shopping in Des Plaines! I live in a South suburb.

I'd noticed the chapparal in their herb section on a past trip for oregano, and so I looked it up. I couldn't imagine what it would be used for in mexican food. I never did find out if it has a food use, but read about it's powerful detox, anti cancer growth, and anti-inflammatory properties. It wasn't as foul tasting as I expected from reports. Bitter though, and it's smell made me think of an overheated circuit board or molten solder. Weird. It did not leave a bad aftertaste.
I used a teaspoon of leaf and stem in a cup of tea. This may all be coincidental but within a half hour or so I noticed a slight pain in right lower rib area. I too am resting today. Then shortly after, I had lots of gurgling and rumbling both there and in my stomach. Maybe it is helping relieve some gall bladder congestion? Or it may have simply aided my digestion.....as I've felt sluggish the past couple days. I will go easy on it though and thanks for the heads up.

I am in N.W. burbs, close to Arlington Park.

How about trying a salt water flush upon rising? It will REALLY clean you out!!!

I tried that when I was fasting. It just didn't work for me. but. Epsom salt did.....

I've been on a detox program for almost 4 months now. About 1 month in I experienced the dizziness and to be honest, it lasted over 2 months. It would only happen when I laid down or got up from laying down - it didn't happen while I was driving or anything like that. I as assuming mine was part of the detox process. It finally stopped just a couple weeks ago. I don't miss it!
