View Full Version : Has anyone recently purchased Blendtec's new Designer Series?

We ordered a Designer Series last week, which is their brand new model. Before purchasing, we read (and understood) that placing an order puts us on a waiting list and our order is satisfied in a first-come, first-serve fashion. That's fine with us, but I'm curious just how long the wait might be right now. So has anybody recently purchased one? If so, how long after your order did you have to wait to receive your blender? We're without right now because we handed down our previous model to someone else.

Thanks for any info you guys can provide and my apologies to the mods if this isn't in the right section. If it's not, I can delete and repost elsewhere if you're unable to move it to the proper section.

the best thing to do is ask Blentec.

What she said ~ or, get a better blender... a Vita-Mix.

It's only important to us because we're craving our smoothies, but not so important we need to bother Blendtec about it. I figured it'd be best to just throw the question out there casually.

Ah, you're one of those types. No problems with our previous Blendtec after 2-3 years.

What type is that? No problem with my Vita-Mix after 15 years.

I took your initial comment in jest and my response was in jest. If you're being serious with your initial statement then I'm not interested in arguing, but will state the following:

I drive a Chevy, I hate hearing the Ford and Dodge crowd tell me I made the wrong decision.
I shoot firearms and my carry weapon is a 1911, I hate hearing the Glock crowd tell me I made the wrong decision.
I game on a PlayStation 3, I hate hearing the Xbox 360 crowd tell me I made the wrong decision.
I own a Blendtec, I was hoping I could avoid a brand-loyalty slap fight since we're all here for 1 thing, so I hope your attitude isn't common throughout this community.

If it's all tongue in cheek, then I can definitely fire back a full dosage of sarcasm, and if that's what you were going for with your initial statement, then please accept my apologies and know there's no harm done.

Back to the topic at hand, I feel like I'm the only person in the world who has ordered this new Blendtec. Nobody on their Facebook page could answer my question, either.

That's fine but then you'll only get a casual answer from people who Blendtec supplied at a different time with perhaps different manufacturing timescales and differing numbers of back ordered stock. Just because one person gets theirs inside six weeks doesn't mean you won't get yours inside six days or as far out as 12 weeks. Even an answer from Blendtec will be fairly casual but with luck a bit closer to the mark.

It was because I don't care one way or the other what you or anyone else gets. I don't bother arguing... since I don't care (and I'm not going to put the evil smiley face up to show it... go 'head... try the evil smiley face. )

They could but they'd be wrong.

Oh, well, wait a minute now... I love my Glock!

What's a PlayStation?

My attitude and what I say is my attitude and what I say. Has nothing to do with anyone else here. I speak for me alone (and, of course, all other VM lovers) ;)

No apology necessary. :kisses:

Think there might be a reason for that??? *giggles and runs off* :excited:

I got the Vitamix 5 years ago after reading about it so much on this site and have regretted it ever since! Have had non-stop issues with it.

WISH I had gotten the Blendtec!

This thread is making me giggle. I got my Blendtec in '07 I believe...still working great after over 1,000 cycles. Only thing I wish it had was the stick the Vitamix has to stir food while it blends. I have never owned a VM tho. But no complaints with BT!

We didn't have much of an issue with food sticking on the sides since we bought our WildSide carafe.

I know, I wanted to avoid it. Just because I went with a Blendtec doesn't mean I hate Vitamix. Either blender, you can't lose.

I didn't know BT had a new series ~ I'll have to go over there and check it out. Wish I could give you an answer to your question, but I don't know..

Cool - I'm only a little into it (http://www.blendtec.com/products/view/3003) and I see my best friend's brother! I remember her telling me he worked for BT :)

Hi Raene ~ I just tried without success to upload a picture of my BlendTec's tamper. I ordered it off ebay. It's simply made using 2 wooden dowels. I don't know why I keep getting an error message on the little picture I tried to post...

If you or anyone else is interested, I can email you privately with a picture of it. The only time I needed to use it was when I was blending wheat grass and water and then straining that to make WG juice...

The Designer Series looks like the best Blendtec ever: Blendtec Designer Series Review (http://gotgreensrevolution.com/blog/2011/12/blendtec-total-blender-designer-series-review/). I've heard that it takes a couple of weeks to get one. It really doesn't change anything about the Vitamix vs Blendtec debate - it just makes the Blendtec a little easier to use.

Just FYI for anybody else considering purchasing this blender. Our order was placed on Friday the 27th and I received an email with tracking number yesterday and it'll be here on the 10th.

So my turnaround time was 2-weeks exactly, shipped from Utah to the Oklahoma City area. YMMV.

Let us know how you like it okay? It's such a sleek design - you don't even see the touch pad selection! I was thinking how easy it is to give my BT a swipe with a cloth and it's all clean vs. cleaning around the VM dial and knobs (I've got both a BT and VM) and that is one feature I *love* on the BT.

Nork,

I can give you a direct answer.

I spoke with Courtney from Blendtec's affiliate program and although the common answer is 'first come, first serve', the ship time for the new Designer series model ships on a priority basis.

I am able to receive one sooner than later because of my website, and I only get paid when a blender ships.

So far, for the general public, it looks as though it's taking three to six weeks for the Blendtec Designer Series models to ship. They can and will alter this range when they feel it is necessary to do so.

Not exactly quick shipping, but it's accurate.

Deb, I would love to hear more about your BlendTec's tamper!!
That is one thing I wish it had. I have chopped off a few tips of the spatulas ;)
I like my smoothies really thick, so this would help soooo much!!
Thank you!!

Hi donnyandcathy ~The tamper I have for the BT is actually made from 2 wooden dowels and I bought it on eBay. Last time I checked, they were no longer being sold there. I didn't pay much, uncer $10.

It was made to go with the older style lid that had a hole in the center about the size of a quarter. The wooden dowel fit down through that hole. It's in the shape of a cross with the tamper fitting snugly down through the lid's hole and then a smaller dowel put through a drilled out hole - very simple design really. Works really well too. It would be simple to make.
