I gather it's a plastic container? If you prefer a handle on it in the meantime, or want to keep it as a spare, it may be able to be repaired with some Plastruct Plastic Weld from a hobby shop. Take the handle with you if you go and they should be able to set you up with the right product for the plastic type. It is not a glue, but a solvent that melts the plastic so the parts can be bonded back together.

WhooHOO!
Mine cracked as well Juli, last year. I was able to glue it back together and rig it so it worked until the replacement got here. And now? NO MORE putting it in the dishwasher. I know it just really degraded the plastic...

Deb and Michigan Roman:
Funny thing is is that this has been glued for a few years. I looked at the owners manual and I got it July 21st 2001! It's a Kitchen Aid Professional. I just love it. M.R. before I read your reply, I ordered a new one (bowl) for $30 and then I did expedited shipping so I should receive by maybe Thursday or Friday next week. I didn't realize how much I rely on this. Tonight I tried using my blender in place and it was not the same. I just realized as I'm typing this that I have smaller bowls that will do me just fine until next week. M.R. if you do find a stainless steel food processor let me know.
My next big purchase will be a new dehydrator. Still confused about what to get. Have watched the videos on all the ones people suggest, including you Deb....but still confused. I guess the ones that claim to be stainless really aren't 100% stainless but mixed with other harmful metals.
Thanks for your input!!!
Juli

That might be o.k. if it wasn't already glued in two different spots. Today, when it broke it came off in more pieces. No salvaging this old girl..sorry to say. Thank you for your idea Streetsurfer!!!

I've been doing a lot of searching for the "perfect" dehydrator for us as well. The only one I found that is stainless steel and has stainless steel shelves is from TSM Products (http://www.amazon.com/TSM-Products-Stainless-Dehydrator-Shelves/dp/B001E6S592/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1328240227&sr=1-1). They also have a 12, 14 and 20 shelf unit but those are scarily expensive.

theres an awesome raw chef on facebbok thats all the time drying stuff in oven with oven door part open , she puts stuff on a tray covered with parchment paper
well im thinking buy the round trays with holes in them sold as i think pizza crispers , then put parchment on them to use in oven method . the holes would seem to
make stuff dry better / quicker
heres link to this chefs page , very excellent recipes http://www.facebook.com/pages/Addicted-to-Veggies/141533525879432

yes, I've seen those...like close to $500 right? It looks nice however.
another concern are those nonstick sheets. From my education, the nonstick substance is no good...toxic.
thanks for your post...SunshineMN!

O.k. so, since your post, I've been to your raw chef's facebook page. it's quite impressive. What if the lowest my oven goes is 225? I just think it's going to be too hot even with the door open.
I guess I could get a thermometer to test it. Hmmmm
Always something to think about!!!
thank you for your post!! Juli
