I've worked with it several times and still I have a difficult time getting it "right". If I get too much then I can taste it and I don't find it then to have a pleasant taste.

In the meantime, I keep it vacuum sealed (Food Saver) in my freezer. I mainly have used it in a mashed cauli recipe "No Tatoes" by Chef Tina Jo.

I have had a package in my refrigerator for 6 months! I'm scared to use it and would love a sure fire way to do so!

I am getting some this week. Today actually. I ordered irish moss and irish moss powder. Will post my results. See rollerjuicer's profile for an interesting recipe I posted there for her. Totally trying that this weekend if the predicted blizzard does not prevent me from going to town. Perfect for superbowl weekend. I also put a couple of links of people showing how to use it on her profile page.

Great!!! Please share with your experience Tiggerbounce!! You say that you will post a couple links on "her" profile page. Who's???
When I ordered my sea spaghetti, I opted to wait on the Irish Moss, because it looked scary, even to someone who loves seaweed! I saw a youtube on it, but still wanted someone like you give us more first hand experience!
Thank you!
Juli

Yeah, I love her site. Recipes are more than a little bit awesome. :) I am thinking of trying the breadsticks and bagels for this Sunday's not KISS day. I made some butter for the bagels today . I want to have a go at fresh fruit with rv yogurt, bagels, butter, and jam for breakfast. For the football game, pizza, bread sticks, tortilla chips, salsa, and dips maybe. And maybe ice cream cones for my banana whip for dessert. Fruit and veggies and juices for lunch.

I cut the pizza recipe to 1/3 of the recipe. No way we would eat the whole thing if I made the full recipe. And since I want to have things simple during the week, I do not want to be tempted to eat it on Monday, lol.

Wow, you are making a lot for Sunday! I'm just making a big fruit salad and hoping there is a big salad at the party I'm going to!
Have you made bagels before and is it Alisa's recipe?

It is nouvearaw's recipe. I have not made them before. I have made a bread before that was really good, but it called for a couple of not necessarily raw items. Baking soda, I think. I did the wild captured yeast thing, so that was probably ok. Sunday is just hubby and me, but he is eating more and more cooked and I am trying to make it feel "meal like" for him to swing him the other way. He is starting to just skip breakfast, try to have salad when they go out for lunch, and then have water for the afternoon. Of course, when he gets home, no body parts are safe! LOL. FWIT, I made the chips last week and the dips and cheeses during the week to ferment for the weekend. Salsa takes a couple of minutes. The yogurt is pretty simple. Jam is a snap. The butter I made today. So, tomorrow I need to work on the bread stuff pretty much. I also saw something called African Ginger Beer. It is just orange juice, ginger and sparkling mineral water. I thought that might be nice with breakfast. Banana whips, well that takes all of two minutes. The cones are just crispy wraps, really. Will make those tomorrow. The only thing left for Sunday should be final assembly of the pizza and heating it up.

Hello - I was wondering if I can use chia seed gel and or flax seeds instead of Irish Moss? I would like to make a pizza, but I'm somewhat intimidated by Irish Moss and don't have a store that sells it readily available.

Hi HappyPickle - what a cute name! I've made pizzas and none of my recipes call for I. Moss - would you like to post the recipe and we can take a look at it? Is the moss used in the crust or sauce or..?

Wow - pizza sounds great right now! ;)

Thank you Deb. I double checked the recipe and noticed it wasn't raw. It's funny how once you get into the mode of raw food, you assume everything is raw. Ha! If only.

Well, how rude that it wasn't raw! (wink) Best raw pizza wishes to you ~ ~
