I don't remember which thread I read about using flax seeds to help diminish detox symptoms because they act like little sponges. Well I have a question, in what manner would you use them to optimize this effect? Obviously they need to be crushed or ground up but from there I am not sure how to go about eating them. I don't imagine you just down a spoonful or they would stick in your throat and choke you to death. NO?! Any advice would be great here. I am experiencing some intense detox again and sure would like a little help. Thanks

I think some people put some into their smoothies, green drinks etc. :]

Buy a 10.00 Coffee grinder and grind them up. They are very good for you too. They have the Omaga 3 in them too A couple table spoods a day is good to use. They taste real good too. Hope that helps Doug in Calif... :) :D ;)

Well, flax crackers come to mind, but if you don't have a dehydrator, then you can sprinkle them on salads, on nut pate's, use in the enchilada wraps, the pizza wraps, sprinkle in smoothies, on ice cream on any food you eat, in soups etc.
You might try a pinch, on some food, and if you like it, then sprinkle some on, if you don't like it on that, try it on something else.

Flax seed is my BEST FRIEND.
I have been about 90-95 % raw for 2 or more months and have struggled and struggled with constipation and gas. I think I just have a lot of stuff to clear out that is deeply imbedded. So I soaked some flax the other day and let it sit and rinsed it for a day or two and then ate a couple spoonfuls and the next day wham! Way poopy! I can't tell you how great it was. Sorry - TMI I know - but let's face it, pooping is one of the best ways to detox. Flax seeds (soaked and let to "sprout" though they've never sprouted for me) do it every time. Fabulous stuff. I like the taste, too. Q

I haven't heard about the flax seeds with regards to detox, but I am assuming its because it helps "clean you out." But I do remember reading about oils, flax in particular, that will help with detox symptoms.

It was Victoria Boutenko that talks about flaxseeds and their help in eliminating detox symptoms. I'm running late, but when I get back I'll look for the info and post it here. (if I remember)

You can grind them up and add them to a glass of water, stir and drink. Just like psyllium.
