the konjac items? they have like konja shrimp, different kinds of noodles, etc. i mean they are shaped like them, lol.
not sure there is a lot of nutritional value, but i have found that if i toss in the dehydrator overnight with a sauce, they are more noodle like. not a lot of flavor but you do need to rinse them well. google konjac for their site. it is less expensive to get them there.
http://www.konjacfoods.com/ lots of info and an online store.

I have tried them both and did not like either. Plus, they are so expensive!
These are the kelp noodles that I have tried: http://www.kelpnoodles.com/
This is the sea spaghetti that I have tried: http://www.amazon.com/Brittany-Sea-Salt-SpaghettiTM-Seaweed/dp/B000X67P2C/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1327972049&sr=8-3

Walnutty;
These are the noodles I was looking at. Do you like seaweed and or seafood?? I love seaweed and seafood. Just wondering why you didn't like them. I have noticed they are both pricey. I'm just looking for an alternative to zucchini pasta!!
thank you.

I doubt that they are completely raw.
It looks like the powder has to be added to boiling water to make the noodles. Not sure though. To me, the Sea Tangle noodles tasted, well, like the sea, lol. Probably better with a tuna type recipe or something like that. The thing is, they are a bit chewy/bouncy. Typically you can get past it by a quick boil or frying. That is not gonna work here, heh. I warmed them in the dehydrator with whatever I was making with them over night and that helped a lot. I put the lot of it in a plastic ziploc and a couple hours before eating I would set it up with the bag open. Some people like them. Others don't. Sort of like Durian, heh.
I have not had them in a couple of years. I have a bag frozen out in the garage freezer, but just have not had the interest. I really prefer to eat something that has more nutritional bang per bite. Get a bag and try it. Who knows? You might love them. Or hate them. Never know. They are more like an al dente pasta / super ball. :)
OR: Try warming your spiralized veggie noodles in a bit of salted water overnight. Then drain in the morning and add your sauce and pop back in the dehydrator a few more hours. Or maybe freeze them and then they might get a bit softer when they thaw out. That works with some things.

Love the sea tangle noodles, but marinate in a little olive oil and aminos to soften them slightly. Also many of the normal 'sauces' that are used on them do the same if you wait a bit. I add them to salads for a little additional interest. they seem to keep me 'full' although the calorie count is VERY low.

Kelp noodles aren't raw and also they are highly processed.
Sea spaghetti is seaweed and I love it. It's expensive though.
I soak the sea spag in water before using then add whatever raw sauce I feel like adding.

Kelp noodles aren't raw..
MysticTree,
Where are you getting your information???
I have contacted Sea Tangle myself and they explained the process and their kelp noodles ARE raw!
AND From their website:
Are your kelp noodles raw?
Yes. Our kelp noodles are a raw food. They do not undergo any heating over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Okay...
I see him sitting there giving a lot of opinions...
He makes some great "points" but he does not give ANY facts at all...
Sodium alginate, by the way, comes from brown algae...

I made the Raw Pho and I did not like the kelp noodles. I found them on sale at Whole Foods and it felt like I was chewing on rubber bands! -_- My hubbster didnt like them and my daughter hated them she spit them out right away.

You know, Mystic Tree, when you look at a picture of the kelp noodles, they don't look like seaweed at all...they aren't green and they look like noodles...so yes processed. When you look at the package of sea spaghetti, they look like real sea weed. Thank you for the post. I love sea weed, so despite the high cost, I'm going to give them a try. Any suggestions of a site to purchase? My Whole Foods and health food stores don't carry them.

MysticTree, love that video of John. He has the best videos. I could just sit and watch them all day. :) (I like to watch enovalee as well. It is fun to see him in a non business setting in her videos. The skydiving one was cute.)
Not sure I could eat sea anything though, heh. Did you find the sea spaghetti tasted fishy like he said it should? I think dh might like something like that, but not I. LOL. I would be interested to have him try it though. I like the idea that instead of eating "spaghetti" that has no nutritional value, even if it were raw, that this probably have a lot of good things going on that would be great for dh. I feel like if I have to spend the time chewing it, it better have something more than chew going on. Thanks for the great video link! Awesome!

I always find it funny that people say seaweed tastes fishy. I think of it more as that seaweed tastes of the sea.
I've never tried kelp noodles but sea spag I love.

you are very fortunate to have that at your fingertips!!! If I lived close to you, I'd say, "let's go out there and experiment!!!" and it's local for the highest vibration and it's free!!!

I just had sea spaghetti (himantalia Elongata), from France and it was awesome. I put a lot of alfredo sauce on it and I thought I was eating fettuccine! Yum!!!
You do have to soak it for 24 hours though to get it soft...but it's worth it for the texture of aldante pasta!
