Greetings,

I do not know if there is a thread covering this topic. But i want to know more information on eating raw through pregnancy. I am asking because i want to prepare my body for a future pregnancy, and i want to be able to transition from eating raw for 1 to 2 ? (I hope i am making sense, I have been up since 4 a.m. and i pretty much fuzzy on the brain)

Also i am taking Multi-vitamins (organic women's suppliments) anyone taking vitamins while eating raw?

Awww Aasyah...don't feel that way. Sometimes posts get overlooked or perhaps people who do have some insights for you didn't read this and those that read it, do not have any suggestions for you...like myself. I wasn't raw during any of my pregancies.

But in the meantime, to get you started, here are some links to a few past discussions on raw pregnancies that might give you some answers...hopefully.

Also, check out the book "The Raw Food Detox Diet" by Natalia Rosa (got this from another thread - they say she has a chapter on being raw and pregnant) and don't forget Jinjee Taliferno of http://thegardendiet.com!

:p Hello, I have a 5yr old & 15mo. I WISH I had been raw during my pregnancy :( ! Although I was not raw at the time should I become pregnant again I would definatly be all raw. Both my kids are and they are thriving. :p

Try the link www.thegardendiet.com is about a raw family & raw during pregnancy. It's a great site :D . Near the bottom of the page, center, there is a yellow box click on that it's all about her raw pregnancies.

I would also strongly recommend starting at the last page of this "Raising Raw Kids" section and read every single thread - I did and it was very very helpful. Also several have inspiring pictures too.

I would also recommend the The Raw Detox Diet by Natalia Rose.

All the best

both of my pregnancies were high raw but not all raw. the next one I hope to be totally raw. What kind of questions did you have specifically? I could try to help you some. But like I said I was high raw - like 90% + depending on the day.

Well let me know if I can help you out at all.

Ariella

Gabriel Cousens talks about pregnancy in his books.. In "Conscious Eating" he gives specific recommendations for prior, during, and after. Also in "Rainbow Green Live-Food Cuisine" he gives nutritional recommendations for kids!

Yes that's true, also I believe that someone from his staff were about to publish a book for raw babies & children which may address pregnancy. It was due out about now. You can email them and inquire www.treeoflife.com

I think the book that (excuse me but I can't remember her complete name) PeachPlum?? was referring to is Baby Greens. I just started reading and the gal that wrote it talks about working for Dr. Cousens and at Tree of Life. Unfortunately I have not read a lot of it and it believe it or not has no index to see if she deals with pregnancy.

Just to let you know I have remained raw in over one half of my pregnancies and have done very well! I eat whatever my body craves, including a lot of sprouted seeds (alfalfa, peas, etc)

I have had very healthy babies and great deliveries, with the majority at home. One of my babes was quite large, but I still had no issues!
