I've been on supplemental oxygen for around 5 years since I suffered heart failure. I've been very overweight most of my life and almost died of septicemia (unrelated to weight) 13 years ago with a massive bacterial blood infection and organ failures. Since the heart failure I've been on oxygen and I use a ventilator at night for apnea. I've had a tracheotomy since being septic... which has never been a big deal to me. I can't choke to death so I've been pretty cool with it, it's actually saved me a couple times. LOL It's also saved me when I've gotten pneumonia a couple times and had my ruptured appendix out. I suppose it would have been different if I hadn't had one of the best surgeons and it was a planned tracheotomy so my voice didn't change one bit.

Anyhow, since going mostly raw two weeks ago I've had to lower the level of supplemental oxygen twice! And today I think I'll be lowering it yet again. One of my big reasons for going raw other than losing weight, was to get off the oxygen completely. Being tied to a machine with a 50 ft plastic tubing well... it sucks! Or taking multiple tanks of O2 with you any time you leave the house... Yuck!

I really didn't think going raw would help my levels of oxygen that fast. I've always been on the anemic side too because I really don't like meat and I've had really bad periods due to PCOS. I'm thinking that maybe all the greens I've been eating, along with drinking fresh squeezed lemon-limeade with it (for the extra iron absorption) has really been helping my oxygen saturation.

I don't really have any questions, just wanted to share in case anyone else out there is on oxygen too and is looking for a way to reduce or get completely off of it. After only two weeks I know I have to stick with raw because I know it does work! My sats have been at 98%, which is too high for someone getting extra oxygen and it can cause problems as well. I was at 2.5 lpm now at 1.5 lpm and probably going down to 1 lpm today! I'm amazed! :excited:

PS: I have a Nonin Oximeter that you stick on your finger to check O2 levels and heart rate. Oh, and speaking of heart rate, mine has dropped from normal 85-100 bpm to 65-75 bpm in that same time.

That is so awesome!!! I hope you will continue to on your journey and experience even more positive results. I have been able to get off iron supplements incorporating more raw and thus more nutrition in my diet. Before learning about raw foods I had been vegetarian for long periods of time, but even when I ate meat, I still had low iron levels. My body simple wasn't absorbing iron. After incorporating more raw (and I'm assuming especially the increase in greens), I haven't had any problems with anemia. Keep it up!! Your experience is very encouraging!!

Alright Sunshine I love to hear healing stories. Keep it up and say bye bye to your O2.

R.Mila isn't that funny you most people think eating meat is how you get iron LOL. when I was just a vegetarian I had low iron and High cholesteral since drinking green juices my cholesteral is perfect and my iron is fine. GO RAW

Thanks! :throwhearts:

I did in fact lower my O2 to 1 lpm. This morning I was at 98% again but I don't think I'll be able to maintain it that high and I'm leary of going any lower unless it stays high for a couple days. I really wasn't expecting to be able to cut the level in half this quickly. I thought maybe 6 months or so at least. I knew raw was a smart choice but... it's really starting to appear to me that our cooked and processed food is extremely bad for us. If it wasn't then why would I improve so fast by cutting out all the chemical laden foods?

We're on our second batch of sprouting. We ended up tossing the sprouted sunflower seeds but consumed all 4 qts of the other sprouts over a few days. We mix them into our leafy green salads. It ends up about 1/3rd to 1/2 sprouts and the rest lettuces, cabbage, cauliflower, celery. We're still using store made dressings though. That's the next step, making our own dressings. And sprouting is so easy!

Next month I'm thinking about doing a kidney cleanse then a liver/gallbladder cleanse. I read, at a link someone posted in another forum here, that a good kidney cleanse takes 3 months? I really need the gallbladder cleanse but it said you should make sure your kidneys are clear first. I was diagnosed with gallstones when I was in the hospital last year. They didn't bother me until recently when I had my first attack. OMG was that painful! I refuse to have it removed though. I've researched it enough I'm fairly confident in the cleanse but I'm a bit clueless about the kidney cleanse. Anyone have any useful advice?

That's really great SunshineMN. I know a few that could use this info, if only they would just do it.

If you are open to it and want to really boost the results your are getting then google, "wheatgrass implant". ;-)

As far as the kidney cleanse. Just like everything of course there are different ways to do it. But here's a link that will give you a bit of info. http://curezone.com/cleanse/kidney/default.asp

Also check out chanca piedra. I've found this in the HFS. It will dissolve kidney stones and gall/liver stones. Though I prefer to use it in conjunction with another kidney cleanse such as eating LOTS of watermelon.

A note on gall/liver flushing.

Juicing LOTS of apples will help soften up gall/liver stones to help expell more of them when you do a gall/liver flush. The reason why is because apples have lots of malic acid. You can also just get malic acid from the HFS.

Lastly I wanted to make a suggestion that before you do the gall/liver flush you clear your colon with a SWF, "salt water flush", or my preference.....a colonic, or even a series of enemas. This will just keep you from potentially getting nauseous. When you do a gall/liver flush there is quite a bit of toxic bile that gets dumped into the upper part of the small intestine all at once. And if your GI tract is full, the bile may have a hard time finding it's exit quickly enough, so it will begin to pool back into the stomach. If this happens you will become nauseous because the body wants it out like YESTERDAY. Trust me, there is a better way to spend the night. ;-) And IMO a little colon-hydrotherapy is worth the effort to avoid a night of hugging the toilet.
