Hi, I'm brand new to this, blogging thing, oh well here I go:) I am an over 40 mom, grandma, wife, friend, nurse. In the last 4 to 5 years my body has somewhat revolted on me, while I am physically and mentally healthy(so to speak) I am VERY unhappy with some of the Drastic changes my body has taken for the worse. I want to Feel healthy and look healthy! For myself. I decided to GO RAW the beginning of this year, promising to start on the first day back to work, so far I have done pretty well. Starting out I ate a few cooked things, but now I am mostly RAW, it hasn't been all that difficult I have always loved veggies and fruit the most difficult part of this is people tend to give me that judgmental glare when I mention going RAW, with the exception of my 25 year old son. I get a lot of don't you want to eat.....whatever. Well no I don't not really, I eat what I want when I want and as of this morning I have said good bye to 9lbs. Not bad for less than 20 days. I'm looking forward to this experience and would love to have others share with me their experiences. It helps to have support from others who actually believe in what you are doing, the naysayers of the world can be overwhelming:) :excited:

yes the nay sayers dont help , if i could go back i would have spoke like 85% less about being raw instead of being a raw salesman , lol .
not worth the debates with people as it puts doubts in mind which make it more difficult to hold to beleifs .
in case this helps my usual staples : bananas - avacado - romaine - dandelion grrens - kale - tomato - onion - walnut - almond - sesame seed - brocoli - mushroom - oranges - cold pressed extra virgin olive oil - apple cider vinegar - garlic clove - fresh parsley - green pepper - dry dates - dry figs - hemp seed - pumpkin seed - sun flower seed - make protein rich mylks out of the seeds in blender that then make fruit smoothies with or drink plain . i feel as though the home made nut / seed mylks are a key , along with dark greens in salads , to raw veganism . thats my opinion as 18th year vegan 6th year high raw , its not anybody elses and i might be stupid so be leary ;-)
its my beleif now that it greatly helps to water fast 24 hours every week to get greater control over appetite . i started a thread ' the monday fasting club ' where i fast starting every sunday 6pm for next 24 hours , easy to do after i just pigged out all weekend ;-) but still it helps to see you can go 24 without freaking out to eat
good luck with your dietary goals

Welcome, I agree with Michigan Roman the nay Sayers are not worth the time and effort. Many friends and family members say I am depriving myself of all the good things in life and when I laugh it off they will say "we Are all going to die anyway". And I still laugh because I feel so good, lots of energy, working out almost daily (my endurance isn't where I want it to be, looking to work that out).
I eat many of the same item as MI Roman except I have sweet potatoes and quinoa. My day begins with a green smoothie. Good luck and ease into it, enjoy the journey and remember this isn't a diet, it's nutrition for life.
