4 days ago I got a stomach flu, the night before I woke up to throwing up non stop I had a large kale spinach salad with artichokes (it was delicious BTW) I threw it up while it was partly digested. So the stomach acid burned the back of my throat and vomit when inside my nose and took me forever to get the taste and smell out my throat/nose. I hydrated well but even I would throw up water, ginger tea, ect. In the past if I ate something and threw it up...LOL never will I touch it again!!! Regular crackers, frosted flakes, powdered donuts Nope never touched them since getting sick! I don't want to do that with my kale and MY GREENS! I need them and I want them but just the fact I remember how I got sick and the taste and the burn of the acid, I was fighting throwing up so bad but it just came out!!!

PLS PLS help it has been a major set back in my progress, I need tips tricks anything!!! Has anyone had this happen, I have a bunch of greens I need to eat but everytime I look at them I'm just like EWW...it's only because of the vomiting, other than that I friggen love my greens.

I would just have a very little kale and very soon. Get back on the horse quickly so to speak ... just have a little and then build up to more slowly.

Hey there!

Well, from my knowledge, stomach flu is caused by an infection with some sort of pathogen, usually a virus, but it can be caused by a bacteria or some other parasite as well. This would mean that it's not the kale chips themselves that got you sick.

Transmission usually occurs either via contaminated water or contaminated individuals sharing objects. Regarding your veggies, my best advice would be to wash your veggies thoroughly before eating them, although there's always a risk, since water doesn't really remove bacteria or viruses. You may want to check out your water supply. Stomach flu is prevalent during the winter season. It's also a good idea not to share bottles with other people and to properly sanitize your bottles and cups.

It's only been a few days. Personally I'd wait a week or two and see if you actually start to crave them.... you might! Unlike those highly-processed cooked foods you mentioned, your body actually loves and WANTS its greens!

Hahahahaa -- nothing like getting totally contradictory replies to your post, huh?

However you choose to handle this, jumping back on the horse or waiting it out, remember this aversion to these foods is all IN YOUR MIND, so ultimately you have the power to alter your perception of them and change the outcome!

You can also try using your greens in a smoothie, so there's no familiar "greens" taste associated with them.....

I love to get everybodys opinions!! I am so happy!! I ate kale salad lastnight and it didnt bother me at all!!! I was at work and talking to my friends (which are my co-workers) it kept my mind off the OMG I threw this up a few days ago!!! So it is ALL IN MY HEAD!
