Thought I'd go out on a limb and show my face (literally) to hopefully inspire others who find themselves wanting to improve their health and lose weight effortlessly.
You can read my story here: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/showthread.php?66295-Hi-I-am-the-new-Amanda-with-an-inspiring-story-to-share.

The first two photos are from this last summer, before I went raw in August. I don't take a lot of photos but the 3rd photo was the first time I was really happy with what I saw, and then the last photo was taken yesterday.
I'm not finished losing weight but I'm definitely past the halfway mark.

The photo is tiny but all you have to do is click on it. ;)
To quote my brother, "you're not chubby in the face anymore!" I'll try to take that as a compliment. LOL

Wow! What encouraging progress!! If my calculations are right, you lost almost 70lbs in only 5 months - how inspiring!! Would you mind sharing an example of your daily raw diet? Did you do lots of smoothies or juices? Any other supplements or services (massages, saunas, colonics, etc) that you feel aided you in your progress? Thank you for sharing your story. You are an inspiration and look beautiful! Keep up the great work!

Heather Anne, I have been eating intuitively since day 1 - I have a long history of disordered eating so I try not to put to much pressure on myself. I did lose over 20 pounds in the first month, and about 10-15 lbs a month since. I did buy a juicer and was on a juice fast for a couple weeks, but now I try to have a meal of juice every day or every other day. I like fruit, and fatty foods like nuts and avocados. I don't drink smoothies. I try to eat a lot of collard greens and kale. I do get regular massages and find they help immensely in encouraging a positive focus and cleansing and healing the body. No saunas or colonics.
Here's an example of my daily diet:
B: Chia pudding with almond milk, bananas, raisins, honey OR buckwheat granola with banana AND a shot of E3 Live
L: Apples and almond butter or 16 oz of juice
D: Massaged kale salad w avocado, or something more exciting I've made in the dehydrator
I snack on dried fruit, nuts, seeds... nothing fancy! I drink a lot of tea right now because it is so cold here.

Thanks for sharing the nuts & bolts of your raw life-style, Amanda. I, too, have a long history of disordered eating and have found that consuming high amounts of raw living food helps immensely. I look forward to hearing of your continued progress. Blessings to you on the journey!

Walnutty - To answer your question, I have a long history of disordered eating so I think that might contribute to the fact that I don't eat very much. I have associated eating with gaining weight (and that was driven into me by abusive people in my childhood and adolesence) so I think that part of me fears eating a normal amount of food. I understand that I could eat a LOT of raw foods and be healthy, but part of me has yet to learn that. I'm definitely going through a transformative process so I try to trust that my eating patterns will change and that I will be able to eat more in the future, and have more normal eating patterns in general.

Wow, an amazing transformation!!! You look radiant. I know you have a history of eating disorder but I have found that I lose weight faster if I eat a piece of fruit or something every two hours, even if I'm not hungry. I know it will take you a bit to get there but just thought I'd share and maybe give you a little gentle nudge. Sush an ispiration. Keep it up, you're doing rawsome!

Michele - Thanks for the advice. I will try to remember that. :)
Tracey - Thanks! I think so too.. isn't it amazing? I feel like I just look like myself but I think I am starting to really look like I feel I look, you know what I mean? Like I look like my healthiest, true self. It's pretty awesome.

Thanks, everyone! Well, I thought I'd be brave in the hopes of encouraging others - so here's my full-body comparison...it's pretty great (scary for me, but great). I just started working out this week and am excited to be incorporating exercise into my life because I have so much energy and drive. Still sitting at 228 but it's I'm not getting discouraged - I'm still better off than I was at 295, right?

Hi, I'm not posting very often here so you probably haven't seen me, but I was looking around for some inspiration and...what an inspiration was this!!!
Your transformation is amazing!!! And in such a short period of time! You can totally tell the difference, you must be so happy and motivated. You have to keep up your try and see yourself as you've dreamed of-you deserve it! Thumbs up from me!!

Mayaya - I remember you, of course. :) You've posted in another of my threads before... well I'm glad that I can be an inspiration to you! Haha, it doesn't feel like a short period of time, I'm so impatient sometimes. I just started working out so that I can tone up my ... well my entire body I guess. Anyway, thanks for your message!!! I really appreciate it. :)

Raw Angel Mom - Thank you! It's amazing how much better I feel. I can't remember feeling this good and healthy in the last 10 years.
Lucy76 - Thanks! I am pretty proud of myself, but still want to lose that last 30 pounds or so, so I can say I've lost 100 pounds. Then I can relax. :)
