Need help uploading photos

I'm running linux. Ubuntu 11.10 I think. I resized the image to 600x600, and named it with the small case .jpg But I still am unable to upload the photo.

I can upload photos on other forums, but I haven't figured out this one yet. The error message I get when I hover my cursor over the exclamation mark which shows up after trying to upload says something like "ioError" I can try again and get the full error message if needed. Can anyone offer me any help please. I have a picture I really wanna share.

I've tried uploading in my account and I've also tried by using the image icon.

SAME here. Wow thanks for posting. I also use Ubuntu 11.10 and wish I could upload some raw food pics but can't.

Hmmm. Must be the forum, cus I can upload photos to other forums on the net.

Have you tried a photo hosting site? I might find a good one and use it if I really feel like I MUST get those pictures posted on here.

As a matter of fact I just started a photobucket account because of this issue. Its nice cause I can also share it with family and friends. But you probably will see me linking my photos (http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n502/RawDad/2011%20Raw%20Food/) in there soon around here.

I always choose the basic uploader on this site

What we've discovered is the basic uploading feature of these forums doesn't work with our operating system configuration, Ubuntu 11.10 (http://www.ubuntu.com/).

However, I believe I've figured out a great, if not slightly more time consuming, way to incorporate photos into these forums.

I created a photobucket (http://s1137.photobucket.com/albums/n502/RawDad/) account. From here they actually provide the text to post into forums like this. With just one click you copy the IMG code for forum use, then paste into the post box and it shows! Heres an example.

And now I can share the beautiful raw burger I ate last night with you all! Hope you like this method fastfreedom!

Yeah..... That worked very nicely. I was able to share my curry dish picture now. Thanks.

Tasty looking burger. When I visited California in June there was a raw restaurant down the street and I always ran down there to get the burger.

It used to be really easy to put photos on this site/forum, but something has changed as I am not able to anymore. I try to use the basic uploader. I find my pics, but when I click on download nothing happens. I have LOTS of pics I would like to put up!

Same thing for me walnutty! I haven't been able to put pics on the last few times I've tried, even though they're smaller KB than ones I've put on before.

Can you offer help Aleesha with this?

Also, Aleesha - what happens when we reach our 'limit'? Do we have to go back and start deleting earlier posted pictures somehow?

I have no idea what happens when you reach your limit (if and when any of you do, let me know and I'll see if I can up your limit? Perhaps? I'm not sure...)... and... I do know that we've alerted the web-god who works on our issues about this problem. I have no idea why it has yet to be fixed. Sorry...

I just checked and it said "6.35MB of 7.68MB used - so I'm getting dangerously close! ;) Thanks for the tip on letting you know when I reach the limit, I will do that!

i use photobucket to post pics to forums all the time. i like it better than using the board picture options (on any forum)... you can edit the photo on photobucket-- resize it, crop it, add text, etc.. it's pretty convenient. :)

I saw that you used Photo Bucket wuv - so I thought I'd do that too. I've got the picture posted there, but I don't know how to get it here. I tried all those 4 options. I'm just not very knowledgeable (sp) about such things.

It's been a while since I've done it, cuz I have done it in the past. Can you help me out with that please? Thanking you in advance!

Edit ~ I finally figured it out (I'm not real computer savvy) that I need to put the IMG code into the body of the post. Works like a charm!
