hello to all
let me start by saying thanks to everyone that post informations on this site.its very helpfull to others like me that dont know much about raw food.
so it is the end of 2011 and i want to go raw for 2012.I suffer from a chronich gastritis so i want to be able to "cure" or to better managed this disease.
i have been a vegetarian for 5 years and i think its about time to kick it up a notch with raw food.
i dont know if im expecting a lot with raw food but i want to control my chronich gastritis, cure my coagulation problem,be able to focus and sleep better among other things.
i have been reading a lot about raw food but my question is...WHERE DO I START???
i dont have a dehydrator just a kitchen aid blender and a couple books on raw food with recipes.
should i just follow those recipes?should i get DVD's about how to prepare my meals..im not sure where to start..
or just say how you started on raw food.im sure its going to help me a lot
thanks everyone and i wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year to all of you

Ahh, the blender is a great easy way to start. Simple smoothies. Lettuce, Kale, or Spinach (A whole bunch can easily go in a smoothie) and a bit of water to make it spin. Then add 4-6 bananas, blend well. Add water to desired thickness. Freeze the bananas and you've got ice cream depending on the amount of water.
1 bunch greens (kale, spinach, lettuce, or even mixed greens)
4-6 bananas
Water
Blender. Start there.
I try to drink 1 of these a day. Sometimes I add coconut, cacao powder, berries, lemon juice, but its all about playing with it. I started adding cacao when I was craving chocolate shakes. I added frozen bananas with less water then I usually used and had ice cream!

Get Alissa's first book and her dvd set. She shows how to make really great recipes really quickly and easily. You ~ for the most part ~ need a good food processor. Her book is worth 3-4 of anyone elses. Also, we talk a LOT about that on the first episodes of Rawkin' Radio.
I agree with RawDad as well. A really good blender, for me, is essential.

Start simple its cheaper and easier. Fruits, salads, use veggies for dips. You can make sprouts also. Welcome enjoy. You can also make juices with the blender. Blend and strain. you can use a nutmilk strainer or a paint strainer both will do the same job paint strainer is way cheaper.
