Im preparing for a three day juice fast. I normally stay away from fruit juices but for three days I am going to add some. I want to do and orange juice or fruit juice in the morning and green juice the rest of the day. I might try Aleesha's tomatoe juice for dinner time.

I need suggestions for the day. Ive been reading the favorite juices. Does anybody have an order that worked best for them. Which are more beneficial.

Ive been reading about orange juice fasting where people on drink orange juice for two weeks (sounds boring). I am going to add it to my fast.

i like squeezing the juice of a lime into orange juice . and one of my fave fasting juices is apple , apples juice well and have vitamin c to fight winter colds .
ive done several long fall fasts when apple crop comes in and the apples are still decent now

and though i dont like carrot juice ive seen alot of juice / nutrition experts such as the late norman walker and juiceman jay kordic really like it .
walker said it dissolves tumors and it obviously provides vitamin a . i think alot of people make a carrot / apple combo

and when i get out alot of das on a fast and start getting weak my best juice to stretch fast as far as possible is tomato because its the most filling / quenching ,
i load it up with fresh garlic clove for its anti viral properties and fresh parsley as its a mineral powerhouse . ive read alot of herbalist whom really like parsley

Thank You MR. :) I just don't want to over do it on the fruit but right now orange juice but I'm tempted to one whole day of just orange juice. I don't really care for carrot either but my daughter loves it so I am going to do a little carrot.

I just started using parsley in my juices also.

Tomato is on my list for evening.
Im just trying to prepare myself to make it three days. 24 hours felt great.

also ive found besides it supposing to be cleansing that lemon in warm water also helps supress my appetite . ive read tens of fasting authoritys say lemon in fasts to dissolve pollution deposits , its the key ingredient in the popular ' master cleanse ' . also green tea supresses my appetite big time . when i first went raw lived on green tea , ecspecially on fasts i drank it constantly

I drink Braggs ACV with honey hot in the mornings that seems to cut my appetite also. I will try lemon and green tea. I am amped up. I just don't want to fail myself. I am going 100% raw all of January. My goal is to to 2 3day fasts and 1 seven day fast. I am also planning to have juice everyday.

Against what I'd thought in the beginning, carrot and orange really compliment each other! I use an equal amount of the 2, like 2 cups juice each, with a nice chunk of ginger root added. To me, it's so creamy tasting and yummy! I didn't pay attention to any advice about avoiding fruit while trying to lose weight, but I do have days where I have none, then days when it's all I eat. Do what your body tells you. Since I last weighed myself I've lost 22 pounds and I haven't obsessed over it as long as it's raw fruit and veggies, nuts and oils.

A few of my favorite juices when fasting are.... Green Lemonade (romaine, cucumber, lemon, apple, ginger). Its so very yummy to me. Also I like the tomato veggie blend with a bit of olive oil and sea salt (I add the oil and salt when doing a long fast). I acually try to add in a cucumber or zuchinni into most of my juices to make them more green.

Carrot-apple-ginger is my absolute favorite. And I love orange juice as well -- as soon as I get a citrus juicer I'm doing all-day fasts on just that! I also like carrot-celery-beet juice with lemon and ginger.

I did a month-long juice fast and almost every day had a variation of the spicy tomato juice...... I also added beets, garlic, parlsey, lemon and chili peppers to it! Yumm...... been craving it lately, might have that for Christmas Eve dinner tonight!

Definitely want to try this idea of hot ACV with lemon in the mornings! Have you noticed any health benefits from drinking it?

I think it depends on YOU as to whether you can consume the sugary juice. Me? I can't. But I do believe some can. Even though I've done lengthy juice fasts, I think some of my minor problems, such as rosacea , which I believe to be candida inspired --- did not go away because I incorporated some apples, carrots and occasionally beets, into my juices. Guess you have to see what works for you.

I think it's better for me to do juices of cukes, celery, greens, lemons.....without the sweets....

And I keep wanting to do an entire juice fast again - this time with no sugar, but keep procrastinating....sigh....

What does ACV stand for?

You can try this from the documentary Fat, Sick, and nearly Dead.

Kale, 4 stalks celery, 1 cuke, 2 apples, 1/2 lemon, ginger

Apple, lemon, ginger is good. I made Apple cranberry this morning too.

I love juicing and making smoothies, and teh green juice i love to make is spinach, kale, apple, cucumber, parsley and lemon. I got the 3-Day Cleanse book for Christmas and have been making juices ever since I got it! I love it - it is all about detoxing, the science behind juicing, and it has lots of delicious recipes, too. If you are a juice fan, I definitely suggest it. It is written bythe founders of BluePrint CLeanse (you prob heard of them cause they are always in the press and lots of celebrities do their cleanse programs). My fave recipe in the book is pineapple raspberry and mint!

The ACV cuts my appetite, keeps me from getting sinus infections, and after a few days increased energy. But it has to be raw organic with the mother (BRAGGS). Its soo good hot with some honey. YUMMY>

You can't mean hot. Warm maybe but not hot. If hot there is no point having raw ACV to start with.

I just today bought my first bottle of bragg's raw ACV! I'm having 2 tablespoons now in 8 oz cold water w some agave and cayenne.... YUM!

I could see having this first thing in the mornings.... how do you heat it? Also, how much do you add per cup of water?

I love juicing about 6 oranges and 1 pink grapefruit - yum! I currently drink 3 quarts of apple juice per day (but eat a raw vegan veggie dish for supper).

I've found that in my longer fasts, too much OJ makes my blood sugar spike and fall dramatically. So when I'd have a treat of a litre of OJ (from a juice bar) I'd be sure to have a shot of wheatgrass and then a more grounded juice afterwards (like a tom blend).

But whatever works for you is all that matters. There is no "this is the right way" to fast. It's up to the individual. (((hugs)))

I've warmed juices before. I put them on the stove in a pot and stir with my finger! That way I know it's not getting anything more than just the chill off the edges of the juice. I drink it so it's only slightly above room temp. Keeps my body warmer when it's feeling so cold from fasting.

Of course putting your glass of juice into a bowl of warm water is another way and you don't have to worry about it over-warming.

I'm glad you said that. I started my juice fast 6 days ago and I've been freezing! I wasn't sure what was wrong.
I'm usually very warm natured. brrrrrrrrrr.

Makes a HUGE difference to me. Another suggestion is to put a heating pad on your belly after drinking a cool/cOld juice

I have been worried about my sugar. I was once in the pre-diabetic range. I made carrot/celery/apple/ginger/and orange juice. I have tomatoes. Im going to try tomato tonight.

I get the hot water from the water cooler at work.. Sometimes I just drink the WARM water by itself. It gives me a sense of warm soup.

I'm drinking EXACTLY this juice right now for breakfast -- it makes one quart and is the most AMAZING juice ever!!

I'm seriously considering stocking up on grapefruits and oranges today for a 3 day fast :excited:

Thanks so much -- I'm using this method now with my ACV/water mixture!

I'm so glad you like it! I think I could live on it. Hmmm.....!!

For those of you who use Azure Standard - we order their organic Valencia oranges. This week it's just $28.00 for a 35# box! Amazing price and they juice like a dream. And sweet? So much tastier than the 'premium' oranges we were buying at Costco in the box. *Ü*

Can you use a juicer for those or a citrus one? That combo sounds like something I would love but I only have my electric juicer at the moment.

Hi ~ I would think as long as you removed the peels from the oranges and grapefruit that you could use your juicer.

I happen to use a citrus juicer - but I don't see why it wouldn't work? I think we could even put peeled fruit into the high speed blender, blend and then strain.

Please post back and let us know your review - good or bad! *Ü*
