Hi everyone,

I've been eating raw for 4 months. The good thing is my blood sugar is back to normal and more energy. The only problem is my dry skin and rash problem never improve. Does anyone have same problem? Maybe detox is not long enough? I drink 25 oz veggie juice every morning, eat fruits at work, salad and almond pate at night. Thanks for any help.

I would suggest you vary your diet more. It sounds as though you eat the same things every day and that means you are missing out on the same things everyday. After 4 months that will have a cumulative effect which you are seeing in the condition of your skin.

I eat different fruits all the time. Dinner is mix green with tomato, cucumber, bell pepPer and nuts. I just added sprouts into my diet and planning to start growing wheatgrass too. Can you suggest anything?

One more question, am I suppose to force myself to drink water. I don't drink much water. Felt like I am never thirsty after eating raw. I tried to setup an alarm to remind myself to drink 3 bottle of water, and end up going to the bathroom every hour. Should I just continue with more water and let my body get use to it?

Hello...I would suggest you add some omegas. Take a flaxseed oil capsule for the best choice, imho.

It sounds like your not drinking just plain water. Remember water alone is important in hydration also.

Is this a specific type of rash/dry skin? Excema? Psoriasis? other? It might help to know because some people have reactions to certain fruits which cause rashes/excema and for psoriasis you might benefit from a liver cleanse - hell, you might benefit from one of those anyway!

I hope it is liver cleanse, because I am a heavy drinker before going raw.

When I first started I broke out in huge pimples all over pretty gross. So maybe it is just toxins. Most people after being raw for a while have beautiful skin. It takes a while for your skin to renew itself. You can try brushing and exfoliating to help it along. I believe milk thistle would be helpful in a liver cleanse. I got a generic detox/cleanse kit when I started like $12 at WF. Stay with it when all of the garbage is out you will see a difference. look at all of the before and after pictures amazing.

Maybe I should eat a cooked vegan meal once a while until I fully detox?

That is slowing your detox when you eat the cooked meal thats why the symptoms subside. Its up to you slow it down if you want. I would want to get it over with. You will feel great when the toxins are realeased. The worst day youll feel like you have the flu but you can get through it. Your body will thank you for it later.

The main reason I went on the raw diet is because my diabete. My blood sugar is back to normal now, and I figure I can eat cooked vegan food occasionally. Like family gathering because my parent is more happy seeing me eating cooked food with them. I've told them many time about the benefits of eating raw, but they don't seems to believe it. So maybe eating cooked vegan meal once a month for me.

Someone suggested adding flax seed oil, and I agree it is a wonderful thing. Flax seeds alone are little compared to the goodness of flax seed oil.

If you are drinking a lot of juice and eating a lot of juicy things you should be fine without additional water. If you are thirsty, drink juice or water, if you aren't, you're probably fine.
