I have been a fanatic forum reader for quite some time now, but always seem to come back to RFT as the advice and support shines so brightly here! Anyhow.. decided it's about time I start posting!
My name is Mony.. I live in Perth, Australia... just relocated from Cairns actually. I am a full time uni student, studying a Bachelor of Social Work.. I have just transferred universities (to one that is nearly 6 times the size of my last!) so lots of changes for me in the new year... including the next phase in my raw journey!

I have been about 80% raw for this last year... I have had to transition into 100% raw quite slowly due to my digestive system being so sensitive and inconsistent.. for years I have been dealing with bloating/gas/etc ..etc....

So I was mainly juicing/smoothie-ing .. salads for lunch.. or guacamole & carrot sticks.. and then steamed vegetables or soup for dinner as when I tried to incorporate raw vegetables I would bloat up to the extremities and feel terrible... after eating like this for the last 11 months, I decided in December I was ready to commit to eating 100% raw! I had done just under a week of completely raw, until a family member pressured (better yet, I let him!) me into a home made seafood curry...but that's okay, and slip ups do happen! I really do feel confident I am ready to tackle being completely raw as I have given my body the chance to transition, gone through detox symptoms etc....

So yesterday was the beginning of a personal 30 day raw challenge for myself, so far, so good!

I am actually looking forward to experiencing more detox symptoms - or better yet the intensity of them... today I feel pretty amazing! Just finished off a bowl of guacamole ... Looking forward to being apart of the forums and meeting lovely new people!

I like the sound of this switch! I think its a great decision to go 100% raw.

Dealing with relatives and friends pressures is difficult at times. Finding the right combination of politeness and firmness takes some work.

Do you have fruits you know of common in Australia but rare to the US?

Yeah I am slowly getting acceptance by the people around me! My boyfriend is so great with it, partakes in the smoothies and some raw meals but he still likes his cooked food, which is fine! we don't give each other and negativity about it which is great!

As far as the fruit goes... I am pretty sure you would be available to the same types of fruits as us.. except maybe bush food/tucker but I have no knowledge on that unfortunately!

Thanks for the reply :)
