hello
I am about to invest in an RO water filter as my area is fluoridated and the level of chlorine sometimes burns my throat. Ive had enough of the water here.
Some people believe that once water is cleaned in this fashion it becomes unhealthy due to the lack of minerals. There are of course mineral drops that people can add to the water to re mineralise.
I do not know if this is necessary when not fasting? However, i thought i should find out more. One of the top brand companies claim to contain 70 minerals in there bottle of trace minerals. But they do not list them on the packaging. so I emailed them and they said they would only talk to me over the phone 0800 ******* . i replied to say that i have a speech impediment and please could they send me the info via email? i have had no response. I also commented on another trace minerals company youtube page asking about ingredients, i was very polite. my comment was deleted!!
on one website of the "top brand" almost there entire description has a "†" symbol at the end of sentences , which if one looks right at the bottom of the page in a tiny text font says along the lines: this is not proven or approved by the food administration.
consumers can also buy "Re- mineralisation in-line cartridges for post RO filtration" these are known to OD the consumer in the first few weeks then toward the end the 12 month period have little effect (These filters contain fluoride one main reason I am filtering ). So I still assume a drop formula would be best as it can be administered to the water far more accurately and shaken in a bottle. However, if one does not know what is in the trace drop formula, how can one be absolutely sure he/she is not consuming too much fluoride or lead or whatever? Why is this information held back? Why can we not have an approximation at least?
Does anyone here have any thoughts on water and trace minerals?
thanks for your help.: )

I would think if you are eating a variety of fresh raw foods you are getting all the minerals your body needs. I guess I have never worried about it.

I have a zen water filter that re mineralizes. Its not RO but it gets all of the chlorine out.

This is why I post in the 'fasting' thread . People who fast should have a good idea about healthy water.
one company replied to say they will have results about what is in their mineral drop product later next year. wow, one would think they would know already as they have been in business for years.
one could simply mix cucumber into the water? or a squeeze of orange?
But there are allot of minerals that we need , not all are available in conventionally grown food and also organic. How does one know what is in the food? Is fluoride in the water that grows the food, yes on some farms..but which? it is not labeled. nothing is labeled correctly.
Perhaps the perfect glass of water is not possible. : )
However, I shall post new info as i find it. please add also if you find anything interesting.
Merry Christmas :)

Yes. Sorry. I often just click on the "new posts" tab and do t always check which thread the posts re in. I can see for a water sat that minerals would be Important.

Something interesting : )
a spectral analysis of pink Himalayan salt. :
This is undiluted, so mixed with water would greatly lower the levels. The list shows all the trace minerals, electrolytes, and elements contained in Himalayan salt
perhaps a sprinkle of pink salt in RO water would be a good way to go?

im thinking making own with big stainless steel pot or ceramic crock in which you place stuff like charcoal and sand
then drain water out of spout at bottom and through a natural paper or cloth filter

wow great idea. you could make your own volcanic filter a mini mountain in your home : )
other ideas i have seen : some people in sunny countries are making their own solar distillers using Fresnel lenses. so that would be almost free if using rain water.
this video below is so amazing. Dan from greenpowerscience drinking distilled water from a vile smelly pond. (..although i would filter the insects out first before zapping

This is what Ken Rohla had to say on his video about the quality of water (see quote below). According to him one should get a spring water delivery home (from a company who can explain the whole process their water goes through). Also Daniel Vitalis has interesting things to say about 'live water'. And so does Dr. Mona Harris on You Tube. All this live water stuff is pretty exciting - - - but I haven't tried it myself yet. Hopefully soon I can afford it.
You can listen to the full talk by Ken Rohla here (it is a BRILLIANT talk and I highly recommend it to everyone interested in health and/or raw foods):

"You have to put water through a lot of different processes just to clean it chemically. You gotta filter it. You've got to, you know... if you're doing distillation then you've gotta remineralize it. And, water is so complex, it goes through this hydrological cycle of the earth. It is extremely complex chemically and energetically. It evaporates, it goes up in the sky, it becomes energised by cosmic radiation, solar radiation, reflected solar radiation from the moon, the sound of nature... ideally... birds, you know, the animals in nature... comes back down, rains down across soil and plants. The plants are - they are antennae, they dip into the ground and they collect energies and frequencies from the earth and they reach up into the sky and collect energies from the cosmos and from the sun, and they are transferring energy between the two all the time and the water in them, also, is a homeopathic solution! So there is this incredible energetic and homeopathy in the water just at that point! Then it goes down into the soil and it passes through all of the microbes and micro-organisms living in the soil. And they are doing all these quantum processes, they've got probiotics - In healthy soil, you've got ormus-minerals, you've got regular minerals in rock-mineral form, you've got humus, you've got all this organic material, you've got worms and insects, you've got all of this life in the soil that is basically breaking the soil down into monoatomic and microclustered elements just a few atoms each and delivering it to the plants and the plants are uptaking it. And mushrooms and fungi - here's where they play a huge role in that - they create a root system down in the soil that is like a massive network that also breaks down these minerals into mono-atomics and delivers it to the roots. [...] One of the worms' major functions in the soil is putting probiotics in the soil. You take a bunch of worms, throw them in a box with a bunch of compost, man, it's amazing how fast they turn it into dirt. They eat like crazy and their digestive tracts are massive probiotic generators. So they're going around through the soil, they're converting things, breaking all these things down - there's this quantum process going on in their guts - and they're fortifying it all with probiotics and then guess what probiotics do? They grow and grow and grow and grow, like a colonial bacteria that they are. [...] ... and [the worms] eat, eat, eat, eat and they break all this stuff down into mono-atomic elements and other microclustered nutrients that can get into the plants, that can get into your body. So, in back to water... So the water's coming down through all that! It's been washed down through all that. Then it's going down into the ocropher [?] and as it's going down through the soil it's picking up all these elements and these minerals that are heavy and they're, let's say, gravitational, as David Wolfe says, and they go down into the ocropher [?] and through that process of going through those living organisms in the soil, they pick up the mono-atomic elements and they get washed down into the ocrophers [?]. And when they pick up the mono-atomic elements they become anti-gravitational or levitational. And they start being pulled toward the gravitational field of the sun. And they start trying to come up! And, typically, they come up through the path of least resistance, which is gonna be a spring. So are you gonna tell me that a freakin' well- filter and the aqua saunas and all those - that it's going to be able to duplicate all that? It's not even gonna come close, there's no filter in the world that can come close! [...] What [Teruo Higa] figured out was - exactly what I'm talking about - these microbes have all these quantum-processes going on and you can do some really interesting things with it. [...] ... another thing that happens in the soil... All soil on earth, on the surface of the earth everywhere is covered with soil and rock, it's crystal. All soil is crystal. It can be large or it can be small chunks but it's all crystalline. And if you know about crystals, they have real energy in them. Not some kind of new-age-woo-energy, they have real electrical energy in them. [...] Crystals are resonators of energy, they are amplifiers of energy [...] ... it's quantum physics, and you can do real, practical things with it. There's tons and tons and tons of things being done with crystals in science. So nature's crystallography is in the soil! And these crystals pick up energy from the sun! They're picking up all kinds of photon-energy and turning it into all kinds of other energy, and then imparting it into the water that is flowing down through the soil and picking up the ormus - You gonna duplicate that with a water filter? Especially after it's been through chlorination? And then picked-up ammonia certain times a year? The water treatment companies run ammonia through the lines along with the chlorine... [...] So is any filter or any water-system that we know of yet, gonna take water and do what earth does in a hydrological cycle of the earth? I don't think so, not even close. So if you think that you're gonna be able to take a filter and do these things to municipal tap water and fix up your water - you can't." - Ken Rohla

Oh yeah, live water would be the water inside fruits and live spring water (rain water and other fresh water too, but obviously from an uncontaminated environment) but also, you can drink very small amounts of sea water for an amazing amount of minerals and chi energy. (Swimming in live water also obviously mineralises and energizes you.) You can also put small amounts of sea water into the soil of your plants to help mineralize the soil (some plants may not like it though).

I do not have the option to buy spring water in glass bottles or from a special company/ brand, all i can afford is the cheapish sainsbury & tesco own brand (calodonian & ashbeck )spring water in plastic bottles, I then filter that through a brita filter. but its difficult to go out on a bike each day and get 1 or 2 bottles with food as well.
So I've decided to try an RO unit and take the water straight into glass bottles ( rather than a storage tank) then add a few drop of trace minerals ( whatever is in them?) swirl the bottle around a bit and leave it to sit for a few days before consumption.
All my washing of fruit n veg etc. will be done under the RO tap.
brushing of teeth, hand washing ( when its warm otherwise ill use the hot/warm tap.)
making herbal tea
water for smoothies
i may even use the RO water to swill off plates during washing up.
I eat mainly organic fruit and veg, so hopefully i should be o.k like this.
i'll still have to shower in fluoride and what not , but its too expensive to have a whole house system.
merry christmas : )

I found a company which delivers to London, UK, the Water is from Wales and it costs £15.60 ($24.33) per delivery for 2 bottles of 18.9 litres each (4.16 gallons) (total of 8.3 gallons), which I would get delivered once every two weeks. The company is: http://www.coolclearwater.co.uk
They come in plastic bottles but I think that is still my best option right now. I don't think it is that expensive. I specifically asked to get it without the water cooler, which costs a lot to rent. I don't know if you could find a similar service somewhere where you live...
Happy holidays to all :)
