View Full Version : Sick all the time...juicing didn't help!

For the last 3 years, I have been getting sick EVERY December. First I don't mean to whine about this since this is no where near as bad as folks with much more serious problems.

It starts with a scratchy throat which after a few days develops into nasal congestion, sneezing, coughing, etc. Last year it started in December and lasted 3-4 weeks. I then would get a week reprieve and then it would start all over again. This lasted until the end of April! Still not sure if this is allergies or a cold. Last year I was on anti-biotics since it developed into a sinus infection.

I started juicing (seriously) in mid summer and while juicing for overall health. (I juice, every morning, kale, celery, carrots and apple). I was hoping it would help stop or reduce, this medical condition. I'm sorry to say, it didn't.

Again this December it started all over again. I'm typing this at 3:00am since I cannot sleep and fell really lousy. But most of all, I am very disappointed that the juicing didn't help with this problem. Again, I apologize for the people that have REAL medical problems and do not intend to make light of their situation(s).

I'm no expert, but just in my own personal experience MSM supplements have almost completely cured my allergy symptoms.

Isn't MSM supplements for joint health?

So, since mid-summer you've been drinking the same 4 juices every day?

That's one thing that stands out. The other is, you don't say what you've been doing the rest of the time. Drinking one juice a day... well, yanno, an apple a day really doesn't keep the doctor away if the rest of the time.... What changes around this time of year? what is it you do? Something you're doing has to change in say, Sept., Oct., or Nov. for this to keep happening.

I do drink one 12-16 oz. juice a day. I have changed my diet (just recently) to more raw and do not eat junk anymore. I do drink alcohol. I know that this could be a contributing factor.
The only other thing I can think of is that I have 2 young Granddaughters that go to school. It seems that many times I am around them, this happens. Could be picking up something from them. But why ALWAYS? Is my immune system down? Everything is pointing to that these are colds.

Raw diet will help. These are also similar to some detox syptoms. I always get sinus build up when I start raw and juicing it eventually goes away and you should feel much better. Rinse your body from the inside our with water juice and good healthy foods. This should push the bad stuff out of your system.

MSM works for joint health, reduces inflammation, help hair and nails grow thicker/faster, enhances elasticity in the skin, eases muscle pain from exercise..... and also reduces symptoms from food and airborn allergies!

I know that this could be a contributing factor. Ya think?

What's a "cold" exactly? It's a bunch of symptoms someone gave a name to. Lemme ask you this .... have you changed filters in your heating system lately? Do you have a fireplace? Been using it?

There are so many options here and w/out actually going through your home; muscle testing you for whatever it is you're eating; finding out what/who you're around, etc.....

I sit in front of a SAD (seasonal affected disorder) lite from September (ish) to March (ish) because i have seasonal affected disorder. Being depressed and low energy can contribute to illness. I say ish because I am in Houston now not Calgary where there is more light in the winter. I am finding I don't need to use it daily any more. Chemicals in your brain are stimulated by sunlight and in the winter when the light is less I go into a slump/low energy/depressed state. I was on anti-depressants in the winter only until I figured this out. They say your health is so influenced by your mental state.

Just a thought about something that helped my immensely. Good luck with it.

VITAMIN D. It works.

That's what I was going to say, all signs point to a vitamin d deficiency:
-It happens in December, when you get less sun exposure on your skin, resulting in less vitamin D
-Juicing doesn't help, juice doesn't contain vitamin D
-Your symptoms exactly match those of vitamin D deficiency

So I would start with that, if you can't go in the sun with skin exposed at this time of year like I can't, I'd recommend taking 4000 UI of vitamin D3, it must be D3, D2 or D is synthetic and toxic to the body and has no benefits whatsoever. Experts recommend 4000 UI a day for adults even though the fraudulent RDA says we need only 400 UI, that little will lead to deficiency.

Something else to consider researching is colonics. Matt Monarch has quite a few good articles and youtube videos. I'll leave it at that cus the net is FULL of good info on the benefits.

And then of course eating healthier and also eliminating certain things from your diet makes a difference. And as you eat cleaner you detox, and colonics are good to assist the body detox so you can go about your day feeling good instead of the opposite. But Matt's articles will go deep into detail on that.

This is just cus I saw someone mention depression.... Vitamin B will help with depression too as far as I know. I don't know which B or if it's a specific one, maybe B6? I'm thinking it is Vitamin B6. I recall learning that on one of the raw food documentaries. I can figure out what documentary if anyone wants to know.
