it's certainly interesting but really, are bananas so tricky to get into? I've never had any trouble opening them the other end.

I mentioned this to my boyfriend who worked with Rhesus Macaques and Olive Baboons and he just laughed ... they just eat the whole thing so peeling them is something they wouldn't do - either the right way or the wrong way!

I never had issues opening at the stem. Even some bananas that were still kinda green. It is still nice to now this technique though. I tried it today and it was pretty easy.
