View Full Version : Worried about my CT scan - any suggestions for detoxing before/after?

So I have my regular CT scan booked for this next Tuesday. I have only had two since the surgery (more before the surgery) for the cartilage cancer I had in the summer of 2010. The plan from the cancer agency is twice/year for the first two years, and then once a year after that for at least five years.
My problem is my sensitivity to .... everything. I don't like having to have the scan but I don't want to worry about a recurrence of cancer either! I believe that the radiation and barium injection could be harming me... it certainly always makes me feel sick. Even though I feel so much stronger as I am almost 100% raw, I would like to be able to prepare for this, nutritionally speaking. I was hoping that someone would have some suggestions as to what to eat/drink the day before/of/after? The hospital only recommends that you drink 2 litres of water before and after.
If the cancer hadn't been such a recent and serious life-threatening issue, I would turn down the scan altogether. I'm just not there yet.
Thanks...

The scan is far less harmful to you than dying of cancer would be. Regarding what to eat, presumably you are already eating a healthy diet, so I'd say just keep going with that. If you need to focus more on intake of liquids, maybe try some green smoothies or things of that nature?

This is your life and your body, you need to do what feels right in your heart but not from your fears or other believes even your doctor or anyone.
I resonate with you regarding the radiation and this isn't something i would do for myself. If i was you, i would find joy the best i can in my life regardless any chaos, stick to raw food while focusing on greens, fresh herbs and fruits.
If you want to pursue with this appointment, i would do as much fruits and greens as possible before, to charge my body the fullest. I would ask the universe to protect me and to guide anyone that will do this procedure for the highest good and love.
Don't buy into fear but listen to your heart, if you don't resonate with this radiation then don't do it, if you do, then just do so.
Cancer is only there because your lymphatic system cannot keep up. The more anti-oxidant food that you consume the more live food you do, the more you keep your guts clean and release your toxic emotion, the more balance you will be and feel.
Believe in you and believe i your body that it will reverse this condition if you allow it and help it.
Miracles happen and amazing one.
All is well
p.s This is my own feeling but you need to remember that i am not a doctor.

I think it is quite irresponsible to say something like that when you don't know the detailed medical history.

CT Scans expose people to massive doses of radiation, I can't find the article I remember reading but it was something like similar to living near Chernobyl when the reactor exploded. I have however found these articles:
Radiation from CT scans causes 29,000 cancers a year, kills 14,500 Americans

CT scans used to monitor success of cancer treatments cause more cancer, study finds

I understand you wanting to have a scan to monitor progress, but don't forget that a scan not only won't do anything to address the cause and stop the growth, it actually accelerates cancer growth, so if you must have a scan to feel safe try to have as little as possible or se if there may be a way to test for cancer progression in a way that won't speed cancer progression (don't forget doctors will violently deny that the scans cause cancer, but science proves them wrong).
You already did one of the best things you could do which is go on a raw diet. Also try to:
-Make sure you get enough vitamin D3 by exposing your skin to the sun or with D3 supplements
-Drink about 2 liters of water per day, not tap water which has many cancer causing chemicals in it and is proven to cause cancer
-Avoid chemical additives and drugs as much as possible, ideally entirely
-Try to do light exercise, even walking, if you have the energy for it
-Use chemical free soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, etc
