Ok, I was able to purchase a juicer to try an organic juice detox, and I made it with 4 days on that specific detox. Today is the second day I have returned to eating whole foods again, but I am not really having anything super heavy or indifferent. I am also still having my juices at least twice in the day. I noticed however, during the actual days I was on the juice detox, I began developing a little constipation for some of my bowels (no gas or gas pains though). Since I came off the juice detoxing completely, the constipation has worsened a bit, and my gas has returned. I use to suffer with severe gas/bloating and gas pains, regularly in the past, but before I began the detox, it was not a constant problem to none at all, for the past few months.

Well, the first day that I came off of the detox, I had my morning juice still which was 2 carrots, an orange, a beet root, parsley, celery, and kale. All organic, than about an hour and a half later, I had a bowl of organic cream of what with organic milk and organic flax seed oil (1 tbsp) and a cup of organic black coffee. Which all use to be a regular breakfast meal for me. Oh yes before my morning juice, I had a glass of water with organic lemon juice and a piece of organic ginger which was apart of the detox.
Maybe an hour or so after my solid meal, that was when my gas became a severe problem. It really was persistent and constant just like what I use to suffer with when it was all at it's worst in my past. I thought to myself, perhaps it was just my digestive system trying to function back or so. Well today, I skipped my morning juice, but had the water with lemon and ginger. I soon after had a bowl of oatmeal with milk and flax seed oil, an organic cherry pop tart, and my cup of organic coffee. All was good I didn't feel any symptoms of the gas and bloating as I did yesterday, and had two glasses of water with apple cider vinegar, an hour or so later. All was still fine, than I had a juice of 2 carrots, an apple, parsley, a beet root, and a piece of ginger. I went to see a film at the cinema with my mother, and that's when the gas came screaming. About 45 minutes or so into the film, I began experiencing such severe gas pains (as the nightmares I use to face head on in my past while out in public). I forgot to note that I did have constipation for the day at times. Well the gas just didn't settle much, I did have some popcorn with butter, but as you've read, I already began suffering with this just yesterday.

So, I am very confused, does this sound totally off with someone who just did a juice detox? I know it was not for the entire 10 days, but 3 days was the minimum preferred and I managed to go onto 4. I am not having anything that is not organic either and that was not apart of my diet before (apart from the popcorn ) so I am lost to what might be the causes here, if this should not be occurring after a juice detox. Could it be the juice recipes that I mentioned? they did differ just a bit these past two days while off the detox. I appreciate any info given here, I am having a little thinking process here to not have a panic attack about my gas nightmares returning all over again. Possibly any specific recipes for aiding in gas and constipation?

Cooked foods and dairy.

Try following a raw food diet.

I had the same problem, for me i found out that it was caused by parasite. You can read my post about my 8 days water fast.

All the best.

I have sensitive digestion too, so I totally hear where you're coming from on this. I used to be plagued by awful problems like the ones you're describing, and they would hit me especially hard when I was traveling...Talk about awful!

That being said, I have a few recommendations for you: One thing is, you should always always be moving your bowels regularly, since that is a major way of eliminating all of the thing you're taking into your body. During a detox, like during a juicing fast, this is ESPECIALLY important, because if your major "exit" is blocked, those things your'e fasting to remove from you body can't actually "exit"! There are several herbs you can take to help you get back into a healthy BM schedule, which, believe it or not, is about 2-3 times every day. For constipation, I'd recommend the gentler herbs you take regularly, rather than pharmaceuticals or even the "natural" senna alternative, both of which are addicting and can wreak havoc on your bowels if used longer-term.

Next: after you have removed toxins from your body, like a multi-day fast will do, most people find they're affected by things that didn't use to bother them. Two major culprits here are alcohol and caffeine. Besides being super acidic, coffee is acid-forming (as is dairy, along with all other animal products), so not only will your "nerves" likely be more sensitive to it after a fast, but your digestive system as well.

In all, I don't think your juices are the culprits of the post-fasting issues you're having. After you have given your digestive system a rest for four days, I would recommend easing back into eating any type of solid foods at all, and starting off with the simplest, easy-to-digest ones you can possibly stand. Fruit is a wonderful "transition" food when coming off a fast. Even if this is not your long term goal, raw foods, with emphasis on the fruits and veggies, will help you make this transition with the least amount of discomfort. From there, I'd recommend a high raw diet, then moving carefully back into the foods you used to eat, leaving animal products for the last addition back into the diet. (Or, preferably, never!)

Personally, though, I would never do a fast then revert to my prior eating habits. I mean, fasts are for eliminating the toxins prior habits have built up in the body...why revert to those toxic habits?

Hope this helps you stave off the pain and the panic attacks! Feel better soon, and send me a message if you have any questions.

Thank you all for the replies.

EmpowerEnergetics, thank you indeed for your thorough input and overall read. I certainly do agree, easing back into more solid foods should probably have been taken upon slower.
Today went very well I am happy to report, and in fact, I was able to move my bowels 3 times within 4 hours. Which, I believe was toxic waste that was causing the unpleasant gas and constipation for me the past 2 prior days. Sorry to detail that, but I do have a strong feeling that perhaps it was that given circumstance that resulted into the problem. We'll just have to see how this goes for the weekend and on. May I ask, which herbs in particular are you speaking of in your recommendations?

I agree once more that, it makes it quiet irrelevant to return to a poor diet after a detox. Yet, my eating habits and diet were not nearly as horrid before I began the detox. I was addicted to a very poisonous junk food in particular, but other than that, I began consuming healthier meals within this past year especially. Which included loads of fruits, variety of nuts, raw greens, oats, whole wheat's, etc. We usually only try to consume turkey and chicken when it comes to animal meats, sometimes we bbq beef though. It certainly is not a regular, and now that I have converted to a much more even healthier diet, I am going to aim for an even less percentage within animals meats.

Thank you once more for wishing me well.

(Sorry for the delay in responding...) Since I have a history of digestive issues and the occasional bout of constipation, I'm currently taking a tincture daily that contains herbs like marshmallow root (great for digestion and a gentle laxative), gentian root (relieves/prevents indigestion), and fennel seed (stimulates digestive organs and relieves gas). Bitter herbs, like gentian and dandelion, are generally good for digestion and have a mild laxative effect. I find that any one or all of these, when taken in the right amounts, do wonders for me.

You can find more "everyday" kinds of herbal laxative suggestions here: http://www.medicinalherbs-4u.com/laxative-herbs.html

And cross-check them on this more comprehensive herbal site:

As you can see, there a quite a few possibilities out there! Have fun exploring :)
