Click the image button in the post (it's the little icon third from the right, looks sort of like a pic of a tree). Click select files (make sure the 'From Computer' tab is chosen) and then browse to your picture on your computer. Then I think you click upload. And then you'll see a little bit of code in your post that looks something like: [ ATTACH = CONFIG ] 8900 [ /ATTACH]. Then you just post your topic and you'll see the pic when you go to look at the post.

Hmm, odd. I wonder if there is something wrong with the format of your photo? Is it a .jpg or some other common format?

I would think you have pop-ups blocked. You should be able to allow pop-ups from this site - check your pop-up blocker.

Yep, I bet Georgina is right... sounds like the pop up isn't working.

Well, you might have been better off posting this question under the Forum Questions and Assistance category.. you might get a faster response from a moderator that way (or maybe not, heh). At any rate, if you google vBulletin (which this forum is powered by) and error 2038, there are a whole lot of responses. Most of them are from sys admins, but the ones I found from users with your problem seemed to mostly be a combination of not having proper read/write privileges on their network, trying to upload a type of file that is not supported, or using an OS that is somewhat incompatible with this type of forum. That's just what I saw at a glance, so I'm not saying that one of those things is your issue, but it might give you a place to start looking. I've not heard anyone else complain about this, so I'm inclined to think it must be something on your side of the network that's causing the issue. Though again, I could be wrong!

are you running an antivirus program of some sort? I wouldn't be surprised if it is trying to be helpful and blocking you from uploading some types of things.

It may be that the photos are too big? Did you re-size them or are they still big files of large dimensions?

My husband re-sized them and I still get the Error message

Well, if your computer is new, my guess is that there are some settings that are not allowing you to upload. Or more likely, there is probably some beast of an antivirus program on there that has locked down what you can and can't do. Antivirus programs are notorious for causing problems like that. Norton and McAfee are the absolute worst!

The easiest way to share pictures is to get some hosting and link to hosted pictures. A free account with Flickr for example.

Hmmm, yeah, hadn't thought of that. Then I suppose you can just put in the URL to the upload popup. Good idea!

Well, it still won't let me add the picture but it will let me change the avatar and profile picture. Under my profile picture is the picture I was trying to down load under Lava Cake Also what strange is that my husband just down loaded a picture of his hummer on the hummer forums which is powdered by the same company -VBulletin
Try to figure that out!!!

Great pic! Did your husband do that on your computer or on his? Also, was it in the same format as the one you're trying to upload?

My best suggestion would be to try uploading your pic from someone else's computer. That will give you an idea of whether the problem is specific to your computer or not.

yes it was on the same computer----strange isn't that!!!! As you can see my husband did shrink the picture way down
The system allowed me to add a picture on my personal profile I think the format was different ---my husband did work
on this for me and thank you again for your help

Yeah, I believe the requirements for profile pics is that they are no more than 100x100 pixels. Anyway, at least you can do that now! :-)

I think it's a combination of different things
1. I have norton
2. I have firefox
When I when to the v-bulletin site there were alot of people who had the same problem who had firefox--It seems that firefox only lets you do certain things
3. Could be that I have a new computer (I love it --It's so fast compared to my old XP computer)
I wonder if anyone here on this site has firefox

I use chrome ... why not download chrome? It's much faster than firefox

Yeah, I use Chrome as well. I tried using firefox once and it was just a complete nightmare. I also refuse to use Norton.. it's a total system hog! Kaspersky and Avast are pretty good, and I've also heard good things about ESET NOD32, and Bitdefender.
