This is easy if you have a food processor but if not no worries
Just get some bananas, stick em in the blender with a bit of cacao (beans or powdered cacao will work well), add just enough water that it blends, then freeze. viola!
i prefer it somewhat soupy so i tend to eat it all before its fully frozen ^____^
you can add a bunch of different kinds of fruit if you want to experiment with new tastes. even almonds..i'm thinking a bit of raw honey would be good but i haven't tried it
cheers!

That sounds pretty good and very simple! It's nice that it doesn't have coconut in it. I like coconut but not all the time since it is high in fat! I really like to keep my foods simple so I am definately going to try this recipe!!:woot:

Hahaha -- I just posted this in another thread! I love banana ice cream.
Just put your frozen bananas in the food processor with a little water and some cinammon. Whir until it's soft-serve consistency. That's it!
It's sooooooo good.

This is what I do I let the frozen bananas let for about 5 minutes or so and then put them in the food processor, so the blades will last longer
When I add frozen blueberries to the bananas -- I have to add the bananas first and process until the ball forms--- then I add the frozen blueberries, because sometimes
if I don't my food processor gets frozen and can I can't remove it from the base.If my husband is around he doen't seem to have a promblem's removing it from the base but he's not alway's around so this is the method I figured out to do...Since I don't want my food processor to get stained ---I have an older cuisinart

That's awesome Querty because I had to put a big bunch of bananas in the freezer since I was fasting and didn't want them to go bad!! Now I have a great use for them being frozen! :excited: I'm going to make some on Tuesday!!

Lol Cindy A, I would be the same way. I don't have a food processor yet, though. I am not very strong in my hands since I played piano for 3+ hours many days since I was 6 years old. Slowly I feel my fingers being less inflamed, thanks to raw! I'm so happy about this because I'm nowhere near old enough to have arthritis!

There is currently 2 ice creams I make. One of them is very similar to this recipe. I take about 2 ripe bananas and freeze them. Later I take them out and put them in a blender or food processor. I add a little handful of almonds and a little handful or cacao nibs. Blend it all up and eat immediately. Sometimes I might add a little honey or agave nectar but it is usually plenty sweet. Also you gotta add little bits of water sometimes to keep it blending cause it can get stuck.

It does not work for me if I blend first and freeze after as it gets too hard. I think that freezing the bananas first is best.
I leave to sit for 5 mins as well. Then slice and process. The food processor is better than the blender as it needs no water.
My favourite ice cream is blackberry.
Anybody tried cherry. It is very nice.
When I do chocolate I use half chocolate powder and half carob in order to keep my consumption of chocolate to a minimum.

YUM! Definitely trying this when I can find some fresh cherries. Or do you use dried?
