Hi everyone!! I have been playing with raw foods for about 5 years and got more serious about it about a year and half ago after coming off a medication that it turns out I never needed in the first place. I went 100% raw over the spring and summer as well as a 9 day juice fast. I felt wonderful!! Then after a while, I stated to get arthritis (at 36) and my labs showed that my estrogen levels were really low. I was having nasty hot flashes and insomnia. I had to be put on BHRT but I continued with my raw foods, superfoods and juices and for a while felt wonderful but the arthritis is still with me nearly everyday - I just can't seem to figure out what's causing it. As a result, my sleep is off again and I find myself up late at night and sleeping in late into the morning, waking with throbbing joint pain in my hands and feet. I've tried everything natural I can think of and so far nothing has worked. My hope is that with the help of this forum, I can figure out what the problem is and share the solution with others. I'm lucky to work from home (making natural bath and body products) so that I have the time to focus on myself and healing from ???
Other than my interest in raw foods and making fabulous natural vegan soaps and other potions, I take classes part time in the hopes of finishing my degree in psychology, I have a wonderful 8 year old daughter who keeps me hoppin and a fabulously supportive husband who isn't raw but is a vegan. We live a few miles outside of Pittsburgh in a quaint small town where people still walk to the shops and hold seasonal festivals... but I still want to move to where the weather is warm!
I look forward to getting to know all of you, finding answers from your experience and sharing mine with you.
