Hey everyone, so my mum has kidney stones (not sure what they're made of). Anyone got rid of theirs after going raw or know of a natural solution? Thank you

kidney stones are usually made of calcium, though I believe there are a couple of different kinds. I did not find raw food to be of help with kidney stones.. in fact, I had a second kidney stone attack about 5 months after going 100% raw. My best advice is very strong pain killers and a whole lot of water!

Speltstrong, your story kind of reminds me of someone I heard from
I have a friend who has a disorder in his family that can cause blood clots. He gave me some very vague information on how he had a blood clot a year ago...and it was during this juice fast thing he was doing...didn't tell me why he did it or anything....ughh it was so frustrating trying to get him to be clear about it!!!!!....he said all he drank was orange juice from the store (doesn't sound good to me, I think I've read something against juice feasting on oj alone, too)...and he said he got a blood clot during that. i was a bit alarmed when he told me about it but he insisted it was just hereditary and had nothing to do with the orange thing. he was so casual about it lol

Just because speltrong didn't remove kidney stones with raw food doesn't mean everyone is like that.
Some things might be cured on raw for some people, while for other people it won't work. It's an ongoing journey of experimentation with raw foods.

Might have been down to the high nut content of your diet - high fat and high protein. I know friends of mine have been told to cut down on red meat when they have had kidney stones.
I like to think that eating simply on raw would make all the difference to kidney stones ... if you have them then obviously you need to get them out and that is not pleasant from what I hear.
I did read of a protocol that involves lots of water and sitting down hard and fast to flush them through. It worked well for the person recommending it.

Thanks for all the advice! I have yet to watch the YouTube video but I think shell get the surgery just cause they're so big it'd take alot of time being raw to dissolve them :( I just plan to be raw and never get them! :)

Read up and see if apples/apple juice and the pectin they contain, and/or grapefruit juice are ways to help soften or dissolve them. Seems to me I recall those are the things used to soften gall stones for easier passing. May work for renal.
If your mom can go low-oxalate raw, then a raw diet shouldn't cause problems. The typical raw diet is VERY high in oxalates. A raw diet is very cleansing which could be good for kidney stones as long as it is low in oxalates. Some high oxalate foods are:
Figs
Almonds
Amaranth
Spinach
Peanut butter
Celery
Chard
Nuts
Chocolate
But there are many more. I suggest getting the book: Low Oxalate Cookbook although it is not a raw cookbook.
