Wow, that doesn't sound like it would taste good at all!
Try this: take 2 bananas and some blueberries and blend them up. Then add a handful of spinach and some ice.... voila! That should be DELISH. For me anyway, with smoothies, simple is usually better.
For many people, green smoothies start out with lots more fruit than veggies at first. The veggies are gradually increased over time as you develop a taste for them.
I'm surprised you're having a hard time finding kale in your area! Kale's in season now and I'm finding it at every supermarket here in Pennsylvania. I've also bought it year-round at the local Wal-Mart. Are you sure you're looking in the right section of the produce department? Sometimes Wal-Mart has it pre-washed and pre-chopped in big bags.

That sounds like a really easy going tasty smoothie, if l made one of those l would feel guilty that l wasn't eating healthy enough. You should see the highly potent hardcore smoothies l do...no fruit, they are usually grey, very dark green or almost black and extremely full on with the most potent plant food known to man (kelp, weeds, sprouts etc).

is there anywhere you can get fresh kelp? Or should I ask, what is the best source for kelp?

hey i get my organic kale at wholefoods weekly and its $1.99 for a head of it. Also your green drink seems like it would be pretty good. Here is one i make.

1 collard leaf
1 kale leaf

My favorite:
1/2 bag of baby spinach (trader joes)
1 cup frozen mixed berries (costco) (i hope frozen is ok :) )
1 cup frozen strawberries (costco)
2 bananas
water (amount depends on how thick you like it)
I could drink this 3 times a day. Love it!

Yeah, that seems nasty alright. When you make smoothies, or is juicing, the rule of thumb is to keep it simple. I say no more than 3 fruits and/or vegetables at a time. For example: banana, collard greens, strawberries. Or carrot, apple, romaine lettuce.
The only thing I don't count as a fruit is grapes and dates, because I consider them as a natural sweetener addidtive. So if a smoothie isn't sweet to your liking then add grapes or soaked dates.
