Hello, my husband and I have a question. He will be going to MD Anderson in two weeks to see an expert (he has Medullary cancer). Anyways, we are coming from California and will be in Houston for one week. I don't know how we are going to do this diet while we are away. Any recommendations? Does anyone also know of a healthy raw type restaurant in that area?

That's my first question, my second question is: we will be going to Disneyland in December also. We will have the same issue. What do we do about food? Also, does anyone know of a healthy raw type restaurant near Disney in California??

Thank you!

What do you eat now? It is not that hard to eat raw while traveling. Salads, fruits, other vegetables, nuts, etc. You can stop by any local grocery store and buy bananas, apples, celery or whatever else you like to eat. You may just have to eat them in their natural state without a lot of meal preparation. I would look for vegetarian or vegan restaurants as they usually have significant raw offerings. Otherwise, specify what type of food you want in a restaurant. For example, you can order a salad - make sure you tell them only raw vegetables, no cheese, croutons, etc.

Good luck. I know it takes more work but it is so worth it.

Raw is really quite easy to do while traveling. It's a lot easier to go into any restaurant and eat raw than it is to request a cooked vegan meal. Most all restaurants serve salad and fruit, and many will create a substantial salad with lots of raw veggies on it if you just ask. My husband and I travel a lot, and I was apprehensive at first about how to do raw while on the road, but it is really quite easy. Stock up at grocery stores, or be creative with the ingredients that restaurants have on hand. :-)
