Greetings everyone from Ohio!!!

Just thought I would share this yummy recipe with you all. Sort of reminds of Cream of Wheat only you use an acorn squash. Here goes....

1 peeled acorn squash cut into pieces
about 10 soaked dates
liquid from the dates
spinkles of cinnamon
water

Put all in the food processor till soup like.
I did not use any specific amount of anything just use the amounts suited to your desires. I don't know if there is the same recipe out there some where but just thought I would "whip" something different up. Yummy!!! Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing that I always like recipes that can be whipped up and eaten in the same 1/2 hour or so.

Ummm ... that sounds yummy! And seems fairly easy too. I've always adored acorn squash and this looks like a good way to eat it raw. Thanks for sharing :)

How do you peel/cut your acorn squash? I can't even get my po little knife through the thing. Then again, my knife isn't exactly top of the line. ; )....

Ack, cutting it WAS a pain!

This was pretty good! I put a few too many dates, so it was sweeter than I liked and a little *pumpkiny* tasting, but nice to have on this cold morning. (I used warm water to soak my dates & add to it)

Anyone know if honey would be an okay substitute for dates?

I am new with experimenting with food like this, and don't want to ruin my squash...

I guess I could just try. Since I would have put honey on my cream of wheat, no???

Would still like some input.

Thanks!!
