8 months ago today I weighed 237 lbs with a BP in the 130's, pre diabetic, acid reflux, bad cholesterol, sleep apnea, and I had elevated liver enzymes. "I" decided enough was enough, feeling like trash was not normal. Here I am someone who served over 20 years as a Marine, infantry, Drill Instructor, who knows and understands the elements of physical fitness, Yet I abandoned the lifestyle and Settled into the standard American routine of eating Processed foods, candy, and sitting on my back side for the last six years.

On Mar 24 I began juicing, gave up candy, beer, coffee, all salt, sugar and processed foods. Within three weeks my acid reflux was gone, my energy level was through the roof and I lost 17 lbs in the first 30 days without PT. the second 30 days, I began walking, and lost another 17 lbs. each day I would juice kale, lettuce, carrots, apples, etc different combinations. I noticed a change in my attitude, I was feeling good, there would be moments of pure elation as some have described.

On day 61 I added wt training to the routine along with healthy eating. By day 90 I was down 40 lbs and began my first round of P90X on raw. my BP was normal, in fact it was 90/55, I had to stop taking my meds just to get it to 114/70 with a pulse of 56.

Well fast forward to Oct my test results were normal no more bad cholesterol, acid reflux, BP is 114/70, no more pre diabetes, NO MORE MEDS, no more anything! So I am down 70 lbs, with a 32 waist and my wife can do the wash on my abs! I abandoned the second round of P90X for Cross Fit. Today I celebrated my 8th month by doing a cross fit routine named Cindy. For a 51 year old I can run, push up etc and feel good afterwards. Yesterday I donated 16 suits that didn't
fit anymore.

What Have I learned in the past 8 months, you must take control of your health.
If you are sitting on the side lines, get up and move, start slow, ease into it. Guys being in shape helps performance!

Your friends will fell as if you are judging them and will fell uncomfortable around you.

It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle.

I am back! What a Thanksgiving!!!

That is about as primal as one can get. It's funny how people use age as a reason for not wanting to do something, he is an example of what is possible.

I am 80-90% raw, my work makes it difficult, but I do take a magic bullet with me when I am on the road; my teammates know as long as I have my greens and can get a workout in things are good.

What made me do it? I was tired of feeling bad, the desire to change, I just wanted to loose wt. so I began juicing twice a day (morning and afternoon). I wasn't expecting to cure my acid reflux in three weeks; that added motivation. The increased energy was anther motivator! Knowing how bad refined sugars and junk food make me feel is enough motivation to keep me on the right track. But the only way to know how bad the junk we eat makes us feel is to stop eating it for one week. Go through a detox and remember how bad it feels, that will do the trick. In addition being 51 and not having to take meds ia enough for me.

I also read Eat to live by Joel Furhman and Trive by B Brazier which focus on nutrition for athletic
performance and recovery. Snoops just do it, and if you stumble one day, don,t kill yourself, just keep going the reward is worth it.

Yes, that's why he calls it primal play and yes, he and his ladies are truly inspirational. Age is not a factor ~ keep playing and playing with your food. You're an inspiration to many here. Thank you for sharing your story.
