First off, nice new format.

I have stomach problems in the form of burning stomach. I haven't gone to a GI to have it diagnosed and in fact am trying to avoid that due to costs.

So I decided to attempt my first juice fast. I don't mind the withdrawal from food or the emotions that are coming up...it's my stomach that's getting in the way (FYI I am not raw but I am a big fan of raw and am working on things--my diet is the cause of my tummy issues, that and stress..anyway) my stomach is burning badly, which it does anyway but today I broke down after just 22 hours and had a few spoonfulls of raw almond butter which seemed to relieve the burning a lot. Despite this, mentally, I still feel like I need to fast. The thing that set the burning way off was lemons and ginger in juice, so I suppose I need to avoid those two for now. I also had considered just doing a water fast.

Has anyone here fasted with stomach problems? can you share your experience, and how you handled things, etc? I would so appreciate it. As of now I am fasting again and I really want to fast for at least another few days to a week my first time around.

Thank you for any replies

Go see your Doctor.

I have seen many doctors and they all say the same thing: here have a pill

The GI will be able to confirm that I have a problem but I am in no rush yet to see the GI. The burning has greatly reduced while on the fast, helped by not consuming things that are known by me to irritate my stomach, like ginger, garlic or citrus.

If I need to see a doctor I will certainly do so at once but so far I don't think I'm at that stage quite yet.

That's what I meant. Have your GI done so you know if it's something serious or not. You want to make sure you don't hurt your self. Glad the juicing seems to be helping you.
