Hello Everyone!

I am new to this lovely forum and 2 months into a mostly 80 % raw food diet. I cut out all grains, gluten, dairy, meat (occaionally will have salmon and eggs), and eat mostly fruits, veggtables, drink fresh juices, coconut water, herbal teas and water.

The issues I'm having are: deep acne scarring, chronic adrenal fatigue for almost 2 years, and small intestine bacteria overgrowth - Sibo. While I have hope the adrenal glands and sibo will heal, all the research I've done says deep indented acne scars are permanent! I've had bad acne on and off for 10 years and have been left with scarring in the past, but never this bad and they always healed. I went on accutane earlier this year. Prior to going on accutane, I was on topical antibiotics that got rid of the acne and I had barely any scars which amazes me to why my skin resulted in indented deep scars after accutane with pimples I didn't have. Could it be from total fat loss on my face or low adrenal gland function?

I am very self consious and my self esteem is effected by this and no amount of makeup will cover it. Will raw foods/juicing restore my skin back ot it's natural state of flawlessness?

If anyone has any suggestion on what to use topically - oils/herbs etc that will heal very deep scars, I would greatly appreciate it!

I think that someone suggested that MSM helps but you need to research it.

Hi and welcome!

I would second the suggestion to try MSM.

Also, I recently came across this older thread about cleansing with coconut oil and thought you might find it helpful. I just started doing it and I'm hooked!

Anyhow, here's the link to the thread:

I've heard raw organic coconut oil can help with the scars. In general, greens with the amount of nutrition they contain, are probably the best thing to flood your body with - particularly through juicing.

Keep going, and give your body time to heal.

Thank you all for your suggestions! As mentioned, I had never had deep indented scarring and having it for the past few months without seeing any improvements on top of doing research and reading it's permanent made me hopeless since no amount of make up covers it. The other resort would be surgery or laser treatments which cost so much money and there is a risk of both these treatments making the scarring worse.

I tried coconut oil in the past for about 6 months which did help my acne and did make the scars fade, but after six months I started to break out horribly and wasn't sure if the coconut oil had eventually clogged up my pores so I stopped using it on my face.

About the MSM, I recall using it for 3 days for a detox in the past and it improved my skin so much during those days although I've recently heard negative things about MSM lighting up your brain.

I see how eating tons of greens would heal surface red shallow marks, would you help me understand how it would heal deep indented scars?

you are on the right path. I hope you are not putting makeup on over the acne as this will not be good. Also hopefully you are off the antibiotics and chemicals etc. I think over time you will see major improvements in the condition of your skin. You are only 2 months in though so give it at least 12 months. It actually takes seven years for the body to totally replace itself on a cellular level so it can take time.

Not sure if you have considered skin brushing but it may accelerate your healing. A lady called Tonya Zavasta is into this kind of stuff so you can check out her website for more info.

kaleboy, I unfortunately have to apply make up (mineral based) as I work in the beauty industry and am face to face with clients. I am off all antibiotics and chemicals internally and externally and will not be going on them again. Thank you for your suggestions - I will be buying a brush for my face and body soon and am looking forward to seeing improvements with skin brushing. Also, are there any powerful herbs/supplements anyone suggests for collagen/skin regenaration from the inside out?

I've heard plenty of horrible skin stories turn into miraculous skin stories on raw food. It may take years of being all raw to see the results you want, but if its what you want, there is no substitute.
