View Full Version : Day 3... And I'm ready to QUIT

A couple weeks ago, my good friends watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead - and decided they were going to start juicing (for weightloss primarily). I thought it sounded good, so I did some research, watched the movie, and even read a bunch of posts on this forum. I did not have a juicier (and didn't have the means to buy one - still don't, unemployed) but my Aunt had a Magic Bullet with a juicer attachment. I decided to give it a go, and went to a local produce place and bought a bunch of fruits and some veggies, and began on Tuesday.

It's been tough since day 1, and I expected the headache, the hunger, and moodiness. Now, at day 3, I want to quit. I've incorporated eating raw fruits and veggies into juicing, but I'm still HUNGRY. I've read that if I'm hungry, I'm not juicing enough, but I feel discouraged to juice with the magic bullet because the prep work takes a while (peeling, de-seeding, chopping) and cleaning out the juicer attachment is a pain, and I don't feel like it really gets enough juice from the fruits and veggies -- so it takes longer, and it's wasting the produce.

I'm just defeated. I live with family, and have had to smell my grandparents cooking. I feel like a failure for wanting to just give up, but I don't know what else to do :(

Girl... dont give up.. thats all I can say. Im on day 11 of my juice fast and I actually found fat, sick and nearly dead after I made the decision to fast..

No one said it was going to be easy, but your on the cusp of reaching the point where you digestive track shuts down, do you really want to give up now after ALL you just went through to get to day three? Im do the point where I just want to lick an apple slice ( and actually did this morning) its so hard.. but thebenefits.. ah.. the benefits.. thats what I hold on to when im ready to crack...

I will say this though, you probably are wasting produce and a good juicer is one of those investments thats crucial and youll need later on down the line.. I know it might be difficult but just stick it out one more day and then see how you feel... but the other part.. the dicing and chopping and blah blah.. thats a part of the lifestyle, if you take time and just prep all at once the process can be much smoother....theres other things you can do though, I make my own veggie broth and the heat really helps trick my stomach into feeling fuller and happier ... going to experiment with a fruit broth and a piece of advice.. go get you some coconut water.. strain the bits out and add it to your juice.. its great for you and is good and curbing hunger..

Thanks Dee... I've calmed down a bit, I really want to do this (I have probably 200 pounds to lose) as a healthy kick start to a new lifestyle. I know the addiction to food is hard to break, and I guess I'm feeling it now - smelling Grandmas food when I stepped into the house nearly sent me over the edge.

And yeah, a good juicer is a must have - as soon as I get a job and get bills caught up!
