Soooooooooo, today is day one going raw for me. This morning I spent i-don't-know-how-much-time in the farmers market trying to find items I have never even heard of or seen before. It was a bit overwhelming, but I won't let it get me down. Once I got home I made some tahini (turned out okayish) and some broccoli/avocado soup. The soup is so yummy, but it's going to take some used to eating stuff cold. I've always been a "pipping hot" food person, so this is definitely a challenge.

So far today: breakfast was some raw juice I picked up at the grocery store. Lunch was a stalk of celery COATED in tahini sauce (did i mention i was starving by the time i made it home?), and a bowl of broccoli soup I couldn't finish because it was cold and an apple. I let my daughter try the soup, she said it was ok, but would be better if it was warm. :thud:

I guess for dinner I will try to whip up one of these famous green smoothies I have read so much about.

Wish me luck!

Congratulations!!!! Going raw is a great choice!!!

Oh yea, I would have been starving too!!! Raw Mama gots to eat!!!! :D When you're out and about, the best fast food is bananas or apples. And I keep Sunflower Seeds in my car fir nibbles.

Try warming the bowl then allowing it to warm your soup. I just pour hot water in my glass bowl, pour it out once the bowl is warm, and put the Raw soup in and cover. Let it sit for a few minutes then stir. Another thing you can do is to put it in the dehydrator at 105-115 degrees. I don't like cold soups all the time either, sp that's what I do... Especially with Alissa's Corn Chowder. It's FANTASTIC, but I like it warm.

You should create a blog on this site and post there so that we can walk your journey with you! Then, you can look back at it from time to time and see how far you've come.

Wishing you success on your Raw and Living Path!!!! :)

I actually feel great, though still struggling with insomnia! The first day was a breeze, I "cooked" a few more items, made a green smoothie (note to self, peel apple next time) and made some parsnip rice to prep for nori rolls on day 2.

My blender isn't the best, but I am going to work with it since I cannot afford the nice ones right now. It took about 10 minutes to make my green smoothie, but I actually loved it. I started feeling so full that I actually could not finish it, so I will have more for breakfast later on. Oh, my cheapie blender comes with a food processor attachment. I was so excited when I realized it! I pulled it out, washed the DUST off of it and started making my parsnip rice, but then it broke! I've never even used it since the day I took it out the box! Ah well, I will check out a few local thrift shops and see if I can find something useful.

On to day 2 for me! Yay!:woot:

Day 2 was a success. I started to crave some tortilla chips and hummus, but I had celery and tahini instead. mmmmmm
