Can you sprout brown rice?

I want very much to go 100% but have a huge bag of brown rice, (the slow cook kind) plus 3 bags of the instant brown rice I don't want to waste. Can brown rice be sprouted? Would it make a difference if it's the slow or instant brown rice? I'm on a really tight budget and can't afford to "clean out" my pantries of everything and don't want to waste the rice. I also don't want to give it away because I can't afford to buy more food this week and I'm hoping to make sprouted lentils and rice if I can sprout the rice.

I doubt the instant rice can because I think it may already have been cooed first. The other type should be ok but sprouted rice doesn't get soft like cooked rice is.
