I've been raw this year, but I wasn't losing weight, because I just realized that I was eating way too much nuts and adding too much oils in my salads. Although I won't be following the 80/10/10 to the letter, I want to be low-fat raw to see if I can lose weight by just consuming Green Smoothies for breakfast and dinner, and eating bananas, oranges or an apple for lunch.
Has anyone had success losing weight on raw?

This forum is for those wanting to follow Alissa's way of doing raw. You'd need another forum, no idea which, for following any other raw way of eating.

I haven't lost any, but I'm not raw currently and haven't been for a year, but I'm trying to lose weight too! I think we will lose weight. Eventually we will feel so energized and wonderful that it will be hard not to exercise :D not to mention life is so much more shiny beautiful that simple things are more entertaining and overeating pales in comparison. I'm only basing this on when I went raw once in the past and lost a good 10 pounds in a month.

Losing weight is definitely a huge benefit from going raw! Check out the before and after section here for tons of inspiration.
I think lots of people have to play with the amount of fats they take in, though. It's about finding a balance that works for you. I'd cut out nuts for a week and see what happens, your problem might be just eating too many nuts as you've said.
For me, putting myself on a smoothie-and-fruit type of fast for the long-term would be too extreme to stick to, and would take away what I consider to be one of the best parts of being raw -- the freedom to eat as much as I want, whenever I want!
Also, are you exercising? I find since going raw my workouts are super-charged -- I'm at the gym almost every day now. And the more I work out, the less I have to worry about how much fat I'm taking in.

As long as the info sought isn't about another way of raw. This forum is about Alissa's way of raw.

This forum is here to assist people who are following Alissa Cohen's philosophy of eating raw live foods. And yes... many people have released heaps of weight. I went from 300 pounds to 145 in the first year. It works when you live it!!!
