I am new here and I wanted to say a quick hello! :) I started exploring raw foods about 2 weeks ago and so far I feel I could go on with it... My main reason for trying out this lifestyle was my thyroid imbalance and anxiety, and I am very happy to notice some changes already!!!
I'm so happy I found this website! You are all so creative with your recipes and the support I feel here is wonderful!

Welcome Anneley,
You will find a number of us with thyroid problems here. There are some that I know of that are now totally off their thyroid meds due to eating all raw. Mine have been cut back 5 times already and I know one day I'll be off my meds.

Thank you for your warm welcome! It's great to know that eating all raw really improves our health and overall well being. I think I forgot to mention I'm from Florida and I was wondering if there are any floridians here? :) I live near Ft.Lauderdale and I was looking for a raw food restaurant, but I guess we don't have any. I know there is one in Miami and one in West Palm, but that's kind of far form me.

Hi Anneley,
Here are a couple of great websites that will help you locate, if not a restaurant, at least a snack bar:
http://www.vegetarianusa.com/city/Florida.html
http://www.happycow.net/north_america/usa/florida/fort_lauderdale/index.html
Also, there is a thread going on the board from a large group of people from Florida. Do a search for Florida and see what you find :D

Hi Earthmama, sweetgoddess, Doe, nice to meet you! :)
As far as Wilma, we are doing good. No damage to the house and we are very lucky to have electricity. There is shortage of foods, but I have managed to stay 90% raw... yeah!
Teri, yes I was referring to the same Glaser's Farms. I was so excited to find out on their website about the Raw Food Culinary Art class!!! I still need to call them, since after Wilma they might be out of power and the classes may be postponed, but I hope not. I have bought a few of their items at Whole Foods and especially I love their Nori crackers.
