View Full Version : Anyone know good chlorella that isn't grown around Japan?
I am looking for a good chlorella brand, but most of the companies that produce chlorella grow them in either Japan or Taiwan and due to recent events of radioactivity from Japan, I do not wish to consume products that are grown around that region. Does anyone know of any good chlorella brands that don't grow their chlorella around Japan?

Yaeyama chlorella ( one of the earliest and most experienced producers ) is still very high quality and very clean, and comes from Japan.
Ishigaki Island where it is grown, is 2000 km. from Tokyo and even further from Fukushima. It's actually much closer to Taiwan. The wind and Ocean currents from the Fukushima area actually go North East, exactly the opposite direction to the Yaeyama farm.
Yaeyama monitors radiation daily and has experienced no deviation from normal.
It would be un-fair to dismiss Japanese producers (who essentially have the cleanest product) without some evidence of a problem. Right now the food producers of Japan need all the breaks they can get!
Hope this is useful.
Ken Rohla discusses radiation problems in the world following Fukushima and how to protect yourself:

More on how to protect yourself from radiation: "The video that accompanies this blog post is a two part strategy breaking down how you can inexpensively and easily begin protecting yourself from the long-lived radio isotopes, which have now become a regular part of our habitat. This began 65 years ago, and has become particularly disconcerting in the last few months since the damage to the Japanese facility at Fukushima."
See link to the video below (from Daniel Vitalis):

Also, on the same blog post he includes these links (go to the post to get to the links):
"I am also including here the two links that I mention in the video. The first is an amazing visualization that shows all of the nuclear detonations that have happened on Earth since 1946. Hint… its over 2000!
The second is a documentary called Trinity, and it shows with nothing less than truly epic footage, the history of these tests. This, if you have time, is a must see! Very disturbing, but strangely entrancing… I guess that is the nature of this technology."

So... in a word I don't know a good chlorella source. Or spirulina. All the sea-grown greens seem a bit suspicious at the moment. I would love it if anyone could shed some light on this.

What if it was purchased before this latest disaster?
Is it a toxic place to buy from in general?

Hi, to be honest I don't know what to think of it. But if you watch the videos I linked to above, you will get quite a bad case scenario. The reason I posted them, was not for fear-mongering though, but at least the Ken Rohla one (beyondrawfoods.com) provides good information on how to protect yourself against radiation and other environmental pollutants. Basically he explains how to build a scalar energy generator. And there is tons of other useful information on the lecture as well.

Personally I would not worry about food from Japan before Fukushima, it's probably as safe as any other food on the planet.

i wonder how do the farms prevent nuclear fallout ?
It is not just Japan and Taiwan. USA is affected too. All countries are affected somewhat.
The cesium in soil is much higher in Hong Kong by University testing.
Indoor veges farm in Japan cannot prevent contamination too. What to speak of outdoor farms.
If organic vegetable farms are affected everywhere.
So how can green food green powder not being affected ?
The manufacturers may not have various equipment to test different kinds of radioactive substances as well.
Nuclear destroy our clean food completely.
