Greetings Raw Foodies! :throwhearts:

I'm new to the site, and looking for some pointers from any of you that own the VitaMix. I plan to go raw, but I wanted to make this a gradual process, since I am not the only one in the household doing this.

I've done raw before, but my boyfriend hasn't. So, I don't want to throw him into it....I prefer to let him get his feet wet before he graduates to true uncooked foods.

My question is more based on blended soups. We just used our brand new VitaMix 2 nights ago for the first time and made a soup. The thing is, when you follow the directions.....the soup turns out piping hot and thoroughly cooked (which is great, if you want cooked food). I'm wondering if there are any raw recipes that give you directions on the VitaMix settings, so that I know how to get it at the best speeds for warming, and not exactly cooking the soup completely.

Thanks for any help you can provide on this.

Bless you all on your Raw food journey.

I haven't seen anything specific for raw/warm soups in the Vitamix. Essentially, less time equals less heat. I just take the chill off soups that I make. Experiment a little. Research raw soups on line and you'll find lots of options. One of my favorites is cream of corn soup. I blend soaked almonds in a little water to make a cream base, add onion, red pepper and the corn off of a couple cobs depending on size. Blend well and garnish with some whole kernal corn (saved from above). A little pepper and a touch of sea salt on top and all is good.
