Hi everyone,

My name is Nina. I'm 23 years old and I just moved to the beautiful town of Bristol, Rhode Island (right on the water and it's one of those "I can't believe this place is real" towns!).

I've read countless raw food books (and have gotten quite a few as gifts), but for the past few years I've been so lazy/unmotivated/depressed that I couldn't muster up the energy to actually get it going. I have gone through so many eating battles with myself but this way of viewing food is the only thing that makes sense to me.

I was vegetarian for 5 years but broke it when I became a General Manager of a Chipotle, working 50-60 hours or more a week, feeling like I had the weight of the world on my shoulders every day. I figured it was naturally raised meats, right? I can go raw when I have more "time". I basically fell into a deep denial and started eating meat and little to no veggies or fruits. From there I basically stopped caring about what I ate and let the stresses of running a restaurant take over me. I ballooned 30 lbs in just a few months, lost a lot of energy and confidence in myself, etc etc.

Well! I quit that job and moved to my new home with my wonderful boyfriend. However, we ate worse than I ever had when we first moved in together. But as soon as I picked up Kimbely Snyder's Beauty Detox book and realized it was mostly raw foods she was advocating I completely fell back in love with the reasons behind eating raw. I've even been getting my boyfriend into it and it's truly magical how eating this way can make you feel. I'm in the most basic level of transitioning but I want to really get it this time. I've dabbled here in there with making green smoothies, eating 70% raw most days, but I lose focus and don't educate myself on how to make it an every day lifestyle. I'm hoping with all the support and experience here I can stay inspired and strong
