I'm so frustrated right now...I've been raw for a little over 2 weeks and lost 12lbs the first week..this week literally have not lost an OUNCE! i don't understand. I became raw to eat healthier and loose weight and after this week of not loosing anything and eating really healthy raw food i'm feeling so frustrated and discouraged...I mean i wasn't expecting to loose another 12lbs....but atleast 2lbs would have been great...I'm totally feeling like giving up. We all ordered in lunch today and I orginally ordered potato skins and chicken tortilla soup because I just didn't care anymore, luckily a coworker talked me out of it, beginning with a really big arguement, but now i'm just barely grasping on to hope that it's all still worth it.

Did you gain 12 pounds in 2 weeks? You're expecting too much too quickly. Sometimes the nutrients are going to heal things we don't even know about. You say "I became raw to eat healthier...." Well, either you did or you didn't. Focus on health... the rest will take care of itself.

Wow 12 pounds in one week!!!!!!!!!! That's amazing.
Don't give up... you are doing great. This is a process... one of healing and coming into balance. Allow your body the time and energy (from raw live foods) to find it's balance!

Yea you are doing great! Embrace the fact that you lost so much in just a week. Things will slow down, esp with shedding REAL pounds. You probably lost a lot of water weight, things thathave been hangin in your system just waiting to be released when given the chance... now you need to look at the bigger picture if weight loss isa priority...i wasn't losing any weight after the first couple of weeks I went raw until I encorporated much more physical activity, and the actual fat was coming off.. this takes quite some time and doesnt just vanish overnight.
Keep your head up and remember the best benefit of staying raw is the greatness you are doing for your body, not just the looks of it. You're doing great and stay positive about this.

You lost 12 pounds in two weeks. Ok so you lost it all in the first week but what is to be unhappy about?
I know I have gained weight recently. I will find out tomorrow morning. I also know that being raw makes you feel so wonderful that what you weigh is just so much trivia.
Don't worry about what you weigh. Don't worry about what you lose. Just eat raw, healthy foods and you'll be fine.

Also you need to really rethink the reason you are doing this diet in the 1st place. Are you really doing it for your overall health or just for weight loss? So eating healthy is not worth it unless you lose weight? Even if you don't lose any weight this is still a healthy decision for your body. I see too many people jumping into this diet/lifestyle just for the weight loss. I don't understand why people freak about a few pounds.

You are doing wonderful and honor your feelings. Sometime part of us is afraid of success and it will sabotage our effort. Be proud, you are doing amazing thing for you. Not only, you will have the perfect body but you will look younger and you will thrive. Let go the attachment the time it will take but know you are on the right path already. Keep in mind all those years from eating cook food and at time not too good choice, so it takes the necessary time to your body to transform you. Put that behind you and focus on this moment. Cut a picture of the ideal body that you want and skin, and visualize yourself this way, surround your vision with love and know without question it is done, and watch the magic.
I would study detoxification if i was you, it speeds up the healing process. Your body will put the focus on what is the most important to keep you alive, such healing your glands, organs and eliminate dangerous toxin in your body.
Each morning you wake up, give thank to your body for transforming you into your full potential.
Little other tricks to help you, is to take your time to chew (chew until it is like water in your mouth), cut down in nuts and seeds, even eliminate them just to give a chance to your body to heal quicker. If you kidney are weak, high protein and fat will engorge them too much. Use raw gourmet to help you to transition only but focus on fresh live food as possible and don't be shy to eat your fruits. You need them.
Be proud of your accomplishment and don't allow your mind or others to tell you otherwise.
Congratulations!

I'm still new to the raw and juicing life style, but I'm not new to the exercise life style so I was just wondering if you've been adding exercise to your program? If you add at least 45 minutes of exercise three or four days a week to your raw diet I'd think you'll be golden. I just started my raw 'change of diet' today but I cycle around 40 miles a week, and walk another 15 miles a week with my wife which helps me stay in pretty good shape. Now I just want to lose about 10 more pounds and I think a raw diet was just what I needed to add to my exercise program.
I think you're doing great by losing 12lbs in a week (that's actually pretty freekin' amazing), but it takes a bit longer and is a bit slower as you get closer to your target weight.

In any type of diet to lose weight, it is normal that after losing weight very quickly at first, there is a stagnation and stop losing weight.
One trick used by nutritionists is to increase the intake of protein to activate metabolism.
That makes losing weight again. But then you should download again the amount of protein you eat, because the excess protein is bad and can cause many diseases.
For this reason the protein diets are very effective, but also very dangerous for the kidneys and liver.
Better you should also calculate the calories you're eating and reduce amount of calories. That would be better solution than increase protein.
I am amazed to discover in this forum the number of people using the raw diet to lose weight.
The raw diet makes you lose weight because, unless you eat a lot of nuts and seeds, avocados, coconut and olives, the amount of calories you eat is very low.
I am very thin. I recently lost two kilos so I got scared. I do not want to lose weight. I did the calculation of the calories I ate in a day with a computer program. I had eaten almost 3 kilos of raw food, but they were only 950 calories.
If I ate the same kind food (with only fruits and vegetables) should eat 5.5 kilos of food to get the calories I need daily. For me it would be impossible to eat so much food, and I guess most people just happens like this. So it's a good way to lose weight eating all the time and eating lots of food. But if the 3 kilos of raw food are nuts, but it is raw, you will not lose weight, get fat even.
When I studied this the teachers told us that people who want to lose weight, not only should visit a nutritionist but also a psychologist, because behind the overweight often anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem ... are hiding.
Want to lose weight with a magic formula, does not solve these problems, but weight is lost.

I'm frustrated to! I lost some weight at first and began to tire of fresh fruit and salad so I ordered some delicious raw food from puremarket express. I think that most of the "raw cheese" and other favorites were cashew based and had alot of calories. I'm switching back to just raw fruit and veggies in order to lose the desired weight. Any feedback or help in my RAW food weight loss journey is wonderful. I will continue RAW for the positive health benefits but I'm in menopause and want to take off the 7 pounds I've gained.

↑ this You can expect to level out a week or even two, however you will begin to lose again as your body makes an adjustment.

Even on NBC's The Biggest Loser where they are eating really low calorie and doing tons of exercise there are weeks here and there when one of the contestants does not lose any weight or even gains a few pounds. After a 12 lb loss your body may have a hard time losing more right away. However, don't give up! The weight WILL start coming off again.
