Hi Everyone,

I'm going to begin my 30 day raw trial tomorrow and I'm so excited to have found this forum. I've been a veggie for 20 years - vegan for the last 3 1/2, and have been introducing more and more raw foods into my diet as time goes on. A few months ago I bought a dehydrator and I've been enjoying experimenting with it.

I've had trouble with my weight recently and I suspect there may be a food allergy at play. I do my best to eat whole foods and avoid most scary things like high fructose corn syrup and "natural" flavors, but something just isn't right. In addition, after avoiding most sugar for many years, I'm finding myself slowly becoming addicted again. So, I decided to take it back to basics and see how my body responds. If this goes well, who knows, I may be raw beyond the 30 days.

I stocked up on lots of fresh fruits and veggies as well as some almonds and cashews tonight and can't wait to make some raw "bread" for myself tomorrow. The juicer is waiting, the Excalibur is at the ready, and I'm psyched!

Welcome Redheaded Vegan!!! My Mom is readheaded also....hey, maybe we're related! :D You seem to be off to a great start! Do you have Alissa's books? They are fabulous! There is a 30 day plan in Living On Live Food that I did successfully...check out the link in my signature line and you can see the photos of my journey.

There are many Raw bread recipes floating around out there, but one of my absolute favorite is the Onion Bread recipe. You can find it on this site, just do a search for it. Believe me, it's wonderful! Also, Alissa has some great Flax Cracker recipes in LOLF that I just couldn't live without....

Hey, make sure you start a blog on here so we can see your progress! I'm so excited for you! Welcome to my world! :)

Hi Readheaded Vegan - best of luck for your first 30 days! It sounds like you're well-prepared, and I second Renee about the onion bread - it is amazing

Hi to you, too, amoux! I'll check out the onion bread next. I have another kind in the dehydrator right now, but with two endorsements like that, I'll have to try it.

It going to be a roller coaster of feelings. But you will feel much better at then end then you think.

Good luck!

Thanks, juicingmatters! So far so good. I'm on day 3 and loving it. The raw bread I made is out of this world, and I just finished munching on some kale chips. I've had a mild detox headache for a bit here and there, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good. I'm not missing cooked food yet (but I'm sure the urge will hit me at some point).

I released 5 pounds in the first 2 days, proof that my body was retaining water. It really wasn't liking something I was giving it, so I'm happy to be treating it better.

Loving the support here!
