Hello!

I'm having a serious craving for some hot, tex-mex style tomato salsa. I've never tried to make even cooked salsa before, so I'm a bit scared to just start throwing stuff in the food processor. I'm worried it might come out like soup instead of chunky, dip-able salsa. Has anyone had salsa success and, if so, are you willing to share some recipes/tips?

Thankyouverymuch! :D

I don't have a recipe for salsa on hand to give you, but just wanted to point out that the key to your salsa not coming out too soupy is to pulse-chop the ingredients rather than just running the processor full-fledge. So, just put your ingredients in and pulse-chop in short bursts until it's the consistency you like.

Here's my "recipe" :)

A few tomatoes, an onion, a clove of garlic (I put it through the press), a handfull of cilantro, half a jalapeno (chopped very fine) (my husband uses habaneros when he makes it... I don't have as high a pain tolerance ;)), juice from half a lime, and a pinch of sea salt.

Increase or decrease whatever you need to till it's just the way you like it.

I use a hand chopper thingy so I don't get it too fine.

Fresh salsa is one of the easiest things to make (imo) and a staple of mine.

Have fun!
