Hey Rawbies!!!!

Many of you have seen my previous threads of Alissa's recipes in LOLF and RFFE. It was so much fun doing her 30 day plan in LOLF and then extending it further. Of course I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with RFFE!!!!! I've made many recipes from them and have enjoyed every one!

Now, I'm ready to explore the rest of them! I'm going to post photos as I go along...feel free to join me! I'm going to go between both books and do recipes that I have never tried before. I'm SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! Raw and Living Food just inspires me SO much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, this morning I'm planning to have fruit. My hubby bought me a delicious Watermelon (which may very well be the last sweet one of the season), so I'm gonna start with that. I've made the Watermelon Soup in LOLF and I've made the Nature's Diuretic (which is just Watermelon juice), so let's move over to RFFE....shall we? :D

O.k., looks like SUMMER MELON STEW (RFFE, page 322) is on the menu!!!!! I've got to go to Whole Foods this morning anyway, so I'll pick up an organic Cantelope, Mango, and Lavender. I have everything else in my kitchen, so I'll have that for lunch with my Salad and Banana's dressing that she posted on my blog.

Today for Dinner I feel like having something simple. So, I'm gonna go with PURPLE POCKETS (LOLF, page 438). My daughter LOVES ALISSA'S KIM CHI (which takes minutes to make), so I'll make that to go inside and make a Sunflower seed Pate, since I have some Sunflower seeds already soaked and sprouted.

In the next few days, I feel like making the the BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI in RFFE, page 356. I remember how wonderful it looked at Grezzo and I've been a "chicken" to make it!!!!!!!!! Hehehe!!!! That one takes a day to make the candied nuts, so I'm soaking my Pecan to make the Candied Pecans (RFFE, page 216). I just hope that I can stay out of the dehydrator so that they can dry out!

Stay tuned for photos!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I'm probably gonna have to just do 2 or 3 new dishes a week because of my hectic schedule. But, I'm looking forward to trying new recipes from Alissa!

Hey Yau'll!!!!

O.k.!!! I finally get a minute to post my photos!!!

Here's the DELICIOUS SUMMER MELON SOUP!!!! It was just heavenly!!! Totally reminds me of the Watermelon Soup in LOLF, but with a kick to it! I loved smelling the Cardamon! The only thing I left out was the Lavender because I searched high and low but was unable to find any. But, I didn't let that stop me from making the soup. My 9 year old daughter really loved it.

She asked if she could have the rest of the Watermelon "Smoothie" in the Blender...which was the mixture from the Soup. I put it in a glass for her and she really loved it just as a Smoothie:

The Kim Chee in RFFE says to let it ferment for 5 days...Sorry, 'dis Raw Mama ain't got that long!!!! LOL!!!! So, I just let it sit a day and it was FABULOUS!!!! Here it is in the PURPLE POCKETfrom LOLF:

My daughter thought it was too spicy for her...she prefers the one from LOLF. I think it's the Daikon in the one I made from RFFE. I love it, though! I like the spiced one better. I love that I can compare the similar recipes from both books. You can really tell how Alissa grew as a Chef with RFFE. But, LOLF is still one of my favorite books because I like the simplicity in it with certain recipes.

I'm REALLY looking forward to making the BUTTERNUT SQUASH RAVIOLI...probably for Sunday's Dinner. I think this is off to a WONDERFUL START, what do you think? :)

Hey you!!! Actually, I never left! LOL!!! Just got busy is all... Hey, remember when we had it at Grezzo? It was FABULOUS then and it's FABULOUS now!!!! Take a look...here's the process:

Soaking the Turnips:

SURE, I love to SHARE!!!!! Here, have a bite!!!!

My daughter didn't care for the Turnips, but she LOVED the Squash! She had it in a bowl like this:

http://i517.photobucket.com/albums/u336/Pioneerspiritnee/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_3061.jpg

I *REALLY* loved this!!! Very YUMMY!!!! It was surprisingly easy to make!!! Honestly, from start to finish I don't think it took me 20 minutes! I especially loved the addition of the Candied Pecans!!! It *really* added to the flavor of the squash! I'm not too crazy about the Coconut Curry Sauce alone. It's actually good with the dish...all the flavors mingling together.

I just love the smell of Coconut, though. It reminds me of the smell of Grezzo!!!! My kitchen smells just like that! What wonderful memories I have of my special times with Alissa!!!!! :D

Have a RAWsome night everyone!!!!

That looks fantastic! You're an inspiration Renee - thanks :-)

AAAHHH! Thanks Amoux!!! :D

I have a taste for some good 'ole fashioned Oats! So, I'm making Really Raw Rolled Oats (RFFE, page 201). Believe it or not, I've actually never had them this way! I've used Raw Oats in other recipes, but never just had it by itself like this. So, the Oats are soakinig right now:

http://i517.photobucket.com/albums/u336/Pioneerspiritnee/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_3062.jpg

I added slightly more filtered water than what the recipe called for, because I want to make sure that the Oats get really soft. Not too much more, though...

I'm also staying with the "Butternut Squash" theme, so I will make the Butternut Squash Patties from LOLF, page 401. I gotta soak more Sunflower Seeds, though, so I will probably have that tomorrow. Today I gotta go work at my Raw business, so I'll be eating my Raw Pizza and my Raw Tacos there! YUMMMMM!!!! :)

Yes, i remember them at Grezzo, i miss that restaurant. I go in Boston some time and i would be lovely if it would still be open.
I just had my squash pasta again, yum yum, lol.... I will look into making the ravioli version.

Hugs to you and yeah, a nice post here. I love reading your thread always, they are so inspiring and phenomenal.

Thanks Raw Angel Mom!!!

HUMMMM...o.k, maybe the extra water wasn't such a good idea!!! LOL!!! The oats got kinds gummy....it PAYS to LISTEN to Alissa you guys!!! LOL!!! But, still good though. Next time I will cut the coconut butter in 1/2 or use a lot less.

This morning I had my Raw French Toast and Eggplant Bacon from my Raw Detox Box (see link below) and some fruit. I have so many extras that I made last night (Raw Tacos, Lasagna, Pizza, Raw Tuna Salad, Raw Burger...), I will hold off from making anything new for a few days...just got too much food here! I'm TOTALLY in Raw Paradise here!!!! :)
