I am returning to the raw food world....Or at least I am reaching out too at this point. I have been eating a SAD diet now for a few years and ended up in the ER this week with very high bp. I really felt I barely escaped death and realized that I need to change. So here I am again. Couldn't remember my old username, but I was a big time poster here in 2005-2006. I own Alissa's book, as well as many others. I just really need the support and encouragement to get going on this again and on a very small budget. Thanks in Advance. And thank you Alissa and moderators for providing this forum and your skills and knowledge to support this lifestyle. Any advise would be appreciated. My bp is very high right now and I need some lifestyle changes quick.

Hi Lacey,
I'm still relatively new here... I think everyone's experiences are personal but we are all here with the same focus: raw food, good nutrition, and health. I have an almost non-existent budget right now so I'm eating pretty simply but I am really into the fall crop of apples right now, as well as dark green salads, and bananas with dried fruit and almond milk for breakfast. :) I think anything you can do with raw food is better than a SAD diet - I shudder when I think of what I had been putting into my body for the past 10 or 15 years. I am a cancer survivor and am planning never to repeat that ordeal! I hope you find the support you need.
:) Amanda

I'm recently back again as well. I was raw for three years and then got married. Although my husband had supported me while dating and supported/supports me in marriage, due to cooking for the family, etc., my raw eating got less and less. Although I was eating healthy by most people's standards, it wasn't the same. My long, heavy, frequent, painful periods have brought me back to raw. I pulled my old posts to see how long it was before I noticed a difference with raw and I was noticing HUGE things in a month, including the opposite periods from what I'm having now.
I'm tired of being tired and must continue my raw food journey even if I have taken three years off. It will be challenging, but I must do what I can do toward that end.
Glad to know everyone is here!
