View Full Version : Skin break out while raw....almonds?

I have been very high raw for about 11 months now, and at the moment my skin looks worse then it has ever looked in my entire life. I have tried natural methods of face cleansing, oil cleanse and am back to using Proactive now, but still NOTHING is helping. I mean my face is BAD big red painful zits on my lower cheeks and jaw line. I am in my early 30's so this is something I expected to be done with.

I am under A LOT of stress right now so I am wondering if that is the main factor, but I took my daughter to an all natural doctor to get her a food allergy test done, The doctor grilled me on her diet, and finally I mentioned I was a raw vegan. He said that was great and the way we should all eat. He also mentioned that our skin is often the way our body gets rid of things such as toxins and unbalanced and such. I mentioned my skin problem and he said ALMONDS. He said he has seen a lot of people who can't eat almonds because of the reaction that it causes to there skin. I laid of almonds for about 10 days, forgot one day and had almond milk. I think it might have helped slightly.....maybe. Not sure if I wanted it to or if it actually did...kwim?

Anyway, has anyone else ever heard of this? I love almonds and eat them a lot more then I realized. I mean almond milk there are so many possibilities. I don't want to give up almonds but not sure if it helped or not......any thoughts?

Well, I seem to break out into hives most of the time I eat almonds. I'm starting to think the brown outer layer is the cause for my symptoms. The must is moderation, soaking, and for the raw almonds to be truly raw. Try soaking them for one day out in normal temp, then one day in the fridge, and peel off the outer layer before consuming. Hopefully this will help.

I would recommend staying away from the almonds in the mean time while your skin clears up. Then try this new approach once you are ready to consume minute amounts of almonds.
