I'm Michelle......Ive been up and down with my raw food intake. I lived in Perth 6 months ago where there was plentiful fresh food and was pretty settled at about 80% . I have now moved to remote Northern Territory and struggling big time. When the produce gets to us its already 3-4 days older than usual (everything is flown in by aeroplane or brought in by boat). There is seasonal fresh food ie... magoes , pawpaws, bananas. I have a small vegie patch going but not a lot grows in the soil due to a bacterial wilt. Anyway I have been feeling pretty cruddy, eating far too much packaged crap, putting on weight. Ive decided enough is enough even older veg has to be better than preservatives. I've joined up here hopefully for support and to get myself back to eating lovely fresh food. Thanks so much for listening and hello!

Hi! I am learning about gardening. Do you have a nursery that can help you with your garden's soil? I can't rely on stores having enough organic fresh produce and decided to grow my own. I sure hope you find a solution soon. :)

Hi Maui girl ... Unfortunatley we have no nusery but that wouldn't help anyway. The bacteria is widespread. There is nothing to combat it other than growing all our vegies in containers. Which is what I'm doing. The varieties that will grow in the soil Ive planted and they are doing okay. I have passionfruit, snake beans , pawpaw and mangoes. Organice, for the most part is not accessable here unfortunately. So I must make do. I tell you if nothing else I am becoming a superb forager lol. I would like to learn how to sprout and where to get sprout seeds from?

I have used pots for herbs and it was pretty easy to maintain. My neighbor just planted lettuces, spinach and many other greens in pots. I just tore-up my back yard. Ha!
I was going to try to find a supplier for seeds online. I had one a while back and then started buying locally. It was less expensive online. If I find the supplier I will be sure to let you know. :)
