I used to think that yellow urine means you are dehydrated. But now, I am thinking the yellow urine means your toxic.
When I eat raw foods, urine is always clear for me. Then when I eat some cooked potatoes once in a while, the day after, my urine is yellow again.

Yellow color in your urine means that your body is passing out water solluble vitamins. B vitamins are natorius for this. All it means is that ..
1.) You are takinga multi-vitamin
and/or
2.) You are taking in to much of a vitamin (which is usually not dangerous) and your body is passing it
and/or
3.) Your body is not absorbing the vitamin (which I highly doubt)
If you want to test this, take a B6 vitamin suppliment and watch the golden water flow!
(And sorry for the spelling errors, I can't find my glasses and I can't see worth anything)

Good question, but yes, urine is supposed to be yellow. It is not toxins that make it yellow, it is bilirubin - a substance that is the byproduct of hemoglobin catabolism. This same substance makes our bruises go yellow, gives a slight yellowish tint to our skin and colors our urine and feces. When you are drinking too much water, and are over-hydrated, it is possible that urine becomes transparent. When you're dehydrated, it has an intense yellow color and a strong smell. There is medication out there that can color your urine, like furazolidone for one. But these effects usually wear off as the medicine is metabolized. Most likely, it is dehydration that causes urine to be too yellow.

I was eating a lot of fruit and I don't drink a lot of water, so my urine is always clear. I don't need that much water, because the fruit supplies it for me.

I take a multi-vitamin, and you wouldn't believe how yellow it makes my urine. Looks like orange juice.

I wouldn't take multivitamins. Multivitamins I know you cannot digest. Pretty much the vitamins are just peed out into the urine.
I remember taking multivitamins two years ago when I was just starting out on health and diets, and I felt horrible from them.

Yeah, but I don't take crapy sythetic vitamins. I take a quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplement that is made from whole food sources. It is usually the crapy ones that have a negative effect on you. -Chemically concocted versions of natural substances. A lot of these cheap vitamins you get at stores like walmart are made by companies that are really only interested in profit not quality. Personally, I know it helps me because I don't feel right without it. I start feeling really down and depressed to the point where my face feels droopy and I can't stop thinking negative thoughts. I also feel like crying for no reason. I will actually have to hold back tears even in public. I have noticed this mood change several times now when I run out of my multi, but after taking it again my mood begins to ellivate and I'm fine. It makes such a change in me that I do not let myself run out of them anymore. So maybe you should try a good quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplement to see if doesn't have a more positive effect. Especially people who are depressed a lot. Before getting on anti-depressants see if you aren't just nutritionally deficent first. Of course eventually it would be ideal to start eatting the right food.

I also take a high quality multivitamin. It's expensive, but worth it. Especially since I am not yet accustom to eating a wide enough variety of foods to get everything I need. Also, taking a B-6 and B-12 supplement helps my depression!

What one are you taking and how did you research to see which one was best.

are you a fruitarian? cause if you are fruitarian, I think you would be overhydrated.
if you are doing the nuts and green herbs and potatoes instead, then you wouldn't be as hydrated as you would be on a fruitarian diet

Health food stores often carry higher quality multi-vitamin/mineral supplements. That is where I get mine, but you can probably order them off the internet also. I have heard that vitamins are kind of pointless if you're not also getting minerals. I guess the minerals help the vitamins to get absorbed. So I make sure that it is a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. I also make sure that it is from whole food sources and not synthetic. Natural has to be better than man made because it will have a lot of photonutrients and stuff that they can't duplicate chemically. There are good people in the world and companies that are trying to make good quality supplements, so pick one that has made a name for themselves doing just that. I would think that if they have taking the time to get the nutrients from whole food sources then they probably aren't just out for profit. I've been taking Pure Essence Labs One 'n' Only Super Tonic Multiple, but not because it's the best but because it looks like a good one that I can afford. A lot of the quality ones will say to take three or more a day, and I don't like that because they don't last as long and cost you more money in the long run. Those kind may actually be better though if you can afford it because it's spreading out your intake over the course of the day. The problem with 'one a days' is that the water soluable vitamins that your body doesn't use right away will get flushed out of the body. So some of the nutrients aren't even getting used (which is probably why my urine is so yellow). That is why 'time release' vitamins were created. They are suppose to stay in the body and release over the course of the day. I don't take that kind because I don't know anything about them. I don't know if they're safe or not. And there are some in liquid form that is suppose to get absorbed immediately, but they are always really expensive. The one I'm taking you only take one a day. It cost me 12 or 13 dollars for a month supply. It has a lot of good stuff in it which is another reason I take it: Vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, superfood complex, herbal extracts, co-nutrients, bioflavonoids, plant enzymes, and photonutrients. I also take extra B-12 and vitamin D because I tested low in those. The mulit that I'm taking doesn't meet the ODI for those nutrients. I have noticed my stomach hurting when I take mulit-vitamins before eatting, so my advise is to always take them right after eatting.

Yeah, absolutely. I'm sure your elimination system is probably not working because you eat fruit. *rolls eyes*

I agree, but I would add to always do your research. Just because it is sold at a health food store doesn't mean that it is good for you. I take the Raw Men's Probiotic. It says that I can take three a day, but I only take one or two. I don't feel like I need 100% from my vitamins as I get a lot from eating a large variety of colorful fruits and veggies!

I am sorry, but I disagree. Any mass produced product belongs to a company that is in it for profit. Some small brands may have their integrity, but from a business standpoint, all that matters is money. That is why you need to do your research. For example, Tom's of Maine used to be owned by the people that started it, then they sold to Colgate (I think it was Colgate anyway). Although I am sure the original owner's loved the money that they made, it seemed like they truly wanted to make a "clean" toothpaste. Now that Colgate owns it the ingredients have changed and are much more misleading. All Colgate cares about is tapping into the "natural" market and making money, not making clean toothpaste.
