Hello all. Wow, where do I start. I've VERY new to raw, I am embarking on this way of life for many reasons, first for health, second for weight loss and lastly because I hate cooking :drool:.
When I was young (I'm still young, just an older young) I could eat anything in front of me and maintain a perfect size 5...not so much anymore. After a series (over several years) of one disapointment after another I have ballooned up to a size 3x...needless to say along with this level of obesity comes a slew of health problems. Now that I can see the light of day again, I have resolved to get thin and healthy once again.
Today is my first day of raw, I will have to do this day to day for now, until I get the hang of it. I'm so glad I found this board, I was not sure how I was going to get in my protein, I now know.
I look forward to getting to know and learn from each of you!

I think doing it day to day is a great way to start, and not get overwhelmed. Hope your first day goes smoothly, and look forward to hearing how you're getting on.

good for u !!! welcome to raw . u should look into daily juices and daily green smoothies . there is a juicing section on this forum and under recipes u will find how to make 70 different green smoothies . just find one u like or make up ur own , but this is an important way to get both fruit and veggies into ur system . also make sure u have a ton of fresh ripe fruit in ur home so u always have something to snack on inbetween meals . this will speed up ur weitht melting off . we also have a ton of awesome recipes in the recipe section . give everything a go over and i promise u will love this forum . there is also a 30 day raw challenge section that u can post what u eat that day so it can help u stick with the raw a lot easier . read the rules of each section before posting . read , have fun and enjoy !!!!

Thank you both for the warm welcome...I've come to realize this is not about weight loss for me...I want to be healthy! I was 95% raw yesterday, shooting for 100% today.

that is all u can do . just keep working on it and dont get upset with urself if u dont do it 100 % everyday . just compare how u feel after u eat a non raw item with how u feel when u eat raw ... this will help with the mind set .

You are sooo right, even now (on day 3) I can tell the difference. I made my first green shake last night...LOVE IT

Welcome! I'm relatively new too but if it can help to inspire you, I've lost 33 pounds in the first eight weeks! You will see your health problems disappear, and you'll lose weight... AND you won't have to cook! If you can get past the detox symptoms and the cravings then you'll be fine. :)
