View Full Version : Rinsing Flax Seeds After Soaking?

Hey everyone,

Should I rinse flax seeds after soaking them? Is that even possible?

I know that rinsing seeds/nuts thoroughly after soaking is recommended, to remove the enzyme inhibitors still on the surface and in the water. But flax gets so mucilaginous after soaking it seems difficult to do properly. (I tried, not sure how well I succeeded.)

Any tips/info would be greatly appreciated :)

You can not rinse flax or chia. It just will not work so use as is.

I take warm/hottish water and add it to flax seeds and let it steep for a bit and drink it like a tea. Sometimes it's a bit "snotty" but it's such a nice, light nutty flavor. It's one of my favorite winter drinks. :)

You obviously do not work in PR or advertising as I feel that you would have picked another adjective if you wanted to get a pleasant picture across to us. I do get the message though.

Lolol, I'm actually a graphic designer

Sorry about that. It actually is very good tasting though, but did think I should warn people who have issues with stuff like that. If you've ever drank raw aloe, it's kind of like that. Beneficial and yummy, but sometimes you have to be in control of what you tell your body as far as textures. :)
